Following on from the comment about hatchbacks being far more common than saloons that was made way before, does anyone know percentages? I know a few people here have saloons, including me :D, but nearly all seem to be hatches. Is it just peoples preference here?

Got two saloons out of seven cars! Must say the GLT's look good, it's amazing the little boot spoiler makes too! IMO there are good points and bad points. The load carrying capabilities of the hatchbacks are so much better, as the boot opening is huge, the seats fold and the parcel shelf slides out. A saloon however is rather restricted for loading. But they do look smart, and not having a huge hatch to lift can be a plus point. I seem to think the saloons were rather more expensive from new, and were never really that popular. I'm hoping to one day restore my F reg 360 GLT saloon, which I believe to be rather rare. However my Dad is selling his rare limited edition saloon.

Well, today I saw my first Blueline! I'd not seen one before, but as we passed a row of cars in a car park near where we were stopping I spotted a 300, and it looked more like a 360, as they do, with GLT style grilles and in the brief second I saw it, I could see it had alloys. Well, I had a wander back and had a look. Sadly I didn't see the owner, went and had a look a couple of times throughout the day, and then didn't get chance to leave a note. It had some damage, a dent in the o/s wing and drivers door, some rust along the bottom of the drivers side door and rear door. Must say those bluelines and redlines on the special model seats for something so simple, look so good!
For your viewing pleasure............
