I like alot of the other Volvo models - but really the 360 is still the 'right' model for me at the moment. Not too big, not too small... and dare I say its actually a lot of fun to drive. Now lets make it a bit faster..
Having not owned another Volvo, I can't really say much about the other models - but the 300 series tends to be almost addictive, it's not like it does anything exceptionally well, or anything badly either - it just has some sort of charm.
Just one thing though... why is the S80 front wheel drive? A major failing on Volvos part I reckon, as all other rival execs are rear. I don't think many of the modern Volvos are 'real' Volvos anymore.

I've recently owned a 480 Turbo, and I really liked that. If it wasnt for my like of Jap cars I would have kept it as my daily runabout. OK, so they may have dodgy electrics, rust well and are FWD, but they look fantastic from the outside, drove really nice and mine had a leather interior which was lovely.
The other Volvos are a bit too big for me, although I do like the 740 Turbo saloons, as they're kind of menacing, but in a subtle way (if that makes sense).

Well, my Dad has many Amazons, the 123 GT has to be the most grin inducing of the lot! It has the looks, the classic car appeal and has stood the test of time. My Mum's car is a 460 1.9 TD, which as nice as it is, is wrong wheel drive, the build quaility isn't there IMO and it's got the habit of rusting! But the engine is damn good and some the usual Volvo qualities shine through. I've got to say the 960 would be my next choice over a 300. It seems to have it all, and is such a luxurious car. Ver impressed with what I've seen. The last of the real Volvo's.
As Steve says though, the 300's are addictive, they do everything well, or satisfactorily, but there is something about them, that you only appreciate once you've owned one.

All the RWD volvo's are great. I hve to say the 133 is the ultamate volvo.
Good for constant 100MPG+(sorry MPH) motorway runs. Amazing handling just by respringing and Spax dampers.
My old man set many records localy with his 131. It looked really rough and tatty but went like sting as well as sticking to the road like sh1t to a blanket! That was the car that made me love volvos.
The 240 has to the work horse as they take a hammering.
I could go on forever

Not true mate... I can get insured on the 3.0 for £380, 2.5 for £450. Mmmmm, you really don't know how hard it is to not spend the student loan since...

Have had about 18 Volvo's to date, 240's,360's,740's, and 940's, running at the moment;
1988 360GLT

1996 940 2.3 Turbo + Estate
The 360GLT is the car that attract most attention from people that 'have had one in the past', there must have been a lot of 360GLT's on the road at one time.

1985 360 GLE C920 Saloon

1987 360 GLT E342 H/back Black...sadly died
30 other Volvo's ,to date, gone but not forgotten !
