I do like the black but I think the graphics( original ones I mean ) and the bits like the spoiler and SNOWCAP look better in contrast,

Also my car looks more like an RS1600i rather than a common old XR3 lol

Sorry Mr Redline. I stand corrected. Should have said:

Black is nice, unless you can find one of these:

Image
  • Affie - 1987 340 GL 1.7 - scrapped
  • Sausage - 1990 340 1.4 - banger raced
  • Rory - 1989 340 Image - broken
  • Brian - 1991 940 SE 2.0 Turbo Estate - murdered
  • Geraldine - Kia Venga

the 343 "blue special" was a 1980 special model.

DL version:

GL version:

the 345GLS "blueline" was the FIRST 300 with 5 speed gearbox.
it had decals on the hatch; left side the normal volvo label with '2.0' at the right of it, and on the right side '5 speed'.

The engine is a B19A, the rest of the car was GLS spec (rev counter etc)

some other characteristics were introductory to other changes that were introduced in 82; interior materials, new metallic paint colours, etc.

After the 1982 'blueline' indeed it took a while for the MKIII blueline to come out :-)

Wasn't the redline the only black 340?

This might sound totally bonkers...but...the 'face' of that first "blue special" looks to me like one of the Happy Tree Friends...

It looks a bit 'Noddy car' but it may just be the colour or the angle or those front bumpers. :?

BTW...if anyone wants to get into the Christmas spirit, downlaod some Happy Tree Friends. It's like Itchy and Scratchy, but much harsher :)
