lets see if we get a reply
sorry I couldent resist having a dig at the fact they consider the 480 a classic but not the 300

Hi Paul ,
please can you add our club to your club guide
it is called volvo300mania and can be found at www.volvo300mania.com
we have about 530 members worldwide ( including U.S.A ,Australia, Israel, Portugal and many Eastern European members ) and attract all ages .
the 300 is gaining a lot of popularity from younger drivers as a cheap and very practical
alternative to saxos and peugeot 106's ,
it is also becoming popular amongst the drift racing fraternity (rear wheel drive and rear mounted gearbox)and for budget rallying.
at 46 years of age , I am one of the older members of this club which was set up purely as a fun alternative to the VOC ,and to keep as many of these often overlooked modern classics alive ,
we have three or four meets a year , usually at car related venues (i.e.Gaydon motor museum ,stondon motor museum, Donnington )
If the magazine ever wanted to do a feature on these cars we have a wide cross section of models available some standard and some heavily modified examples.
Come on Paul , lets be fair , how can you list the 480ES in your buyer price guide and totally ignore the 300 ( lol.)
I have added a picture of my car which is a fairly rare REDLINE model using the B172 renault engine
how much more cosmopolitan can you get ?
a Swedish branded car ,made in Holland with a French engine driven by a Brit
Its about time the 300 was recognised as a classic , it is no longer just driven by o.a.p's and vicars withh trilbys and raincoats neatly folded on the rear parcel shelf
Very best regards
Mick Nelson
