What you used to drive.
That's some awesome creations Mac!!
I've recently been trying to find pics of all my old cars, which I've been putting on my website. Unfortunately the website is having a few technical issues at the mo, but here's a quick list:
Renault 5 GTL 1.4
Pug 309 GL 1.6
Pug 309 SRi (205 GTi engine) - rolled it - oooops.
Citroen BX 19DTR - long term loan from my mum.
Golf GTi mk2 - insurance didnt like that so mostly just sat around not being driven.
Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia CVT - bad mistake.
Rover 214Si - beautiful engine, shame about the head gasket!
Rover 214GSi
Pug 205 DTurbo - 3dr GTi look alike - went like stink for what it was and surprised quite a few supposedly quick cars on road rallies (my first proper event car). Wrote off with a tree 'incident' on an event.
Pug 205 XS - fixed it near enough every weekend, but nice to drive. Must have done around 30 events in it. Maybe more. Smashed a hole in gearbox and sold it on. Now on it''s 4th Wessex Motor Club owner.
Volvo 340 DL - my introduction to RWD and Volvo. never let me down and great in the snow!
Peugeot 205 DTurbo - 5 door this time, few more events but got bored and sold it to my girlfriend.
Volvo 360 GLT - hooned around for about 6 months, along with a couple of all night events. Sold to SteveP.
Toyota MR2 mk1a - amazing car - but got crashed into and eventually sold it on dented. Liked it so much I persauded my girlfriend to buy one!
Sierra XR4x4 - horrible pushrod v6, but made up for with the delights of powerslides and general hooliganism. Lots of bits falling off/breaking so sold it on.
Citroen ZX Volcane 8v - bad buy - lost a fair bit of money on it, then it blew it after a mate bought it.
Suzuki Swift GTi - crazy little pocket rocket, but torque steer galoure.
Volvo 360 GLT - my current project
Volvo 480 Turbo - got it free, did some work on it and sold it on. Nice car.
Opel Manta GTE - got fed up of rusty cars so sold it on
Citroen BX 16v - crazy French nutter car. Quirky and quick. My daily driver.

I first hit the road in a 1.0 carb Citroen AX - not fast, but very fun.
Upgraded to a 1.8 Xantia as I needed a towcar... for my 2CV racer - owned several roadgoing and race 2CVs (website.lineone.net/~ed.drake-lee).
Started earning some decent money and decided I wanted a classic sports car, so bought the poor man's Ferrari - a 1977 Fiat X1/9, great when it wasn't overheating.
My first camper - a F*rd pinto engined VW T25.
My Xantia was written off and hastily replaced with the best car I ever owned: a 1985 VW Polo 1.0, cost me £360 and barely a spot of rust - still going strong for one of my mates.
Spent 6 months in the USA driving round in a 4.0 Jeep Cherokee Laredo.
Needed something faster than the Polo back home - money pit VW Scirocco 1.8 GT
Went for a bit more luxury with an Alfa 145 Junior Twin Spark 1.6, but hated the driving position.
My first Volvo - a 440 1.8i LE, probably the 2nd best car I ever owned.
Replaced when I needed an auto - 850 T-5 GLE estate... the fastest car I've had...
...but too thirsty. Had some fun with a very special '83 340 GL CVT (one owner from new, 37k) and also briefly owned an '84 360 GLS, but both had to go.
Now driving a 2.0i 480 ES as a daily driver and just got my first proper aircooled VW - '82 T25 Devon camper. Holidays here I come!
