umm - bar stewards

Nearly £200 for a 1.7 I'm getting tempted to go for a 1.4 to save handing a bit of cash over to them. I know someone who is only paying about £35 for a 1.1 corsa.

Ah well

Cheers Mo

Thats the only reason i run a 1.4 everyday, car tax is out of hand, an unfair and outdated system - in my opinion of course!!

Have to agree that walking would be better than one of those things.

I am considering going for a 1.4 but that will be 3 cars to tax sm38

I need the 240 estate for shifting stuff - I don't want to sell the 1.7 as I've spent loads on it and intend to spend more.

I suppose what I realy want is a 145 so I can ditch the 240 and then pay no road tax :D The problem is finding a good one that I won't have to spend ages sorting out :(

Just to make you feel a bit better:
A 1.7 would cost nearly £300 in car tax in Germany. Even for my B200F's (Euro 1 cat & lambda sensor) I'm paying £207.

A 340 diesel anyone? £412 a year

Wow!

That is a lot of money!

My 340 1.7 pays 21 euros...

I've got a C70 2.0 Turbo that pays almost the higher tax... 126 eur, which I thought it was a lot until I read this thread

The yearly tax cost of my Merc 280 before the 30-year historic tax bracket kicked in?

€710 - nearly £500.

Now only €196 / £135, phew ...
