Plastic model

Post by bogbasic » 14 Dec 2004 01:05 am

I can't believe it but a red plastic model of a 340 (allegedly a 360) bowed out at 47 quid on eBay. I thought you could buy a good car for less than that, and have lower running costs ;-)
1988 340 1.4 GL, 218k, 5 door (Grey Bess). Gone to CBA.
1991 340 1.7 GL, 64k, 5 door, petrol blue (Deep Blue).
1988 360 2.0 GLE, 140k, 5 door, ocean blue metallic (Blue Bess).
1989 340 1.7 GL, 108k, 3 door (Red Ness).

When I put my bid in I thought 'What ON EARTH am I doing, putting in a bid for a tenner for a bit of plastic?' Thankfully I bid on an account with virtually no feedback on it, and thought about retracting the bid! But what kind of LUNATIC would pay £47 + P+P for that?! WOW! My first car - a 1000cc Mini cost me £10! And it carted me around for 9 months stress free... Has eBay gone mad - it isn't even a rare model...

Was that the plastic red GLT model? In which case the GLT model is actually quite a bit rarer then the GLE saloon type which often comes up.
