so basically its 4 x 100 pcd 32 /38 offset and any centre bore bigger than 52 mm ,according to that chart that means you should be able to get away with some early vw's ,some vauxhalls ,, a couple of rovers , same with mazda ,some toyotas and even a couple of hondas , that broadens the choicre a bit

yeah but if you use VOLVO wheels, specially volvo 300 wheels, you dont have to tell the insurance. if you use other wheels you have to tell the insurance or your policy is invalid

You're *supposed* to TELL them about about anything which isn't as it was when it left the factory (in terms of spec / equipment). Now of course you could get totally anal about this, and I seem to recall a thread on the VOC where some guy was getting totally stressed out about telling his insurers about fitting an aftermarket HU because the Volvo one had packed up!!
The distinction is do they CARE about it. If it's a factory part with a Volvo part number on it, most companies will let it pass with almost no increase. However fail to tell them that it's there, and they'll try to invalidate your policy in the event of a claim.
I'm taking the line that anything theives can clearly see, I'll tell them about, as well as anything that'd give an insurance assessor heart failure. Classic example...twin carbs - will declare, K cam - will not. If the gits are prepared to strip the head and measure the lobes (assuming they don't know the cam codes!), they're trying too hard...
The perfect insurance deceiver would be to fit a B230E to a 360 injection, but use the 360 inlet manifold (different to the B230E one). 132bhp up from 115, and you're cleverer than me if you can tell at a glance. If you want to get really clever, fit the Penta stroker kit, and have 2.5 litres of redblock goodness in a 2.0-alike package. Job done
cheers
