yeah you're not wrong - But my current car cost me £1200 about 9 months ago, £130 to tax, does the fuel consumption i mentioned, just passed its first MOT with me without any problems and has loads of life left. I'm a bit concerned about getting something less reliable :(

If you get a low mileage example with little to no rust (this is the main thing to look out for!) a 360 is about as reliable as any modern, and when something does go wrong it's usually very cheap to fix. Pretty much the only time a 360 injection will break down is if the fuel pump fuse corrodes, I'd vouch for this myself :lol:

Something goes wrong on the volvo you can usually fix it without a load of hasstle quite quickly at home
Something goes wrong in the electronic brain of little modern car you are helpless and have to go see the manufacturer in most cases
My volvo (despite my concerns) passed 1st time no advisories on friday :)

I got a volvo because my peugeot was too unreliable. Although saying all this you're coming from VW which are probably quite good.
