Please note, the contents of this post do not necessarily reflect the views of the author.
It has come to my attention that the very nice alloy wheels located in Milton Keynes may be more appealing if viewed in the context of a better class of vehicle.
To this end, it is for your delight that we present the following. You will note how the discreet 'Volvo' badge has been replaced by an enormous sticker, the blackness of which picks out the hand-crafted 'dirt' detailing of the wheel itself.
Indeed, such is the extent of the craftsman's dedication to his art that a 'Redline' sticker has been added to enlighten those too thick to notice the red line which runs around the vehicle.
Only in this setting can the sublime Redline alloys be truly appreciated, and then only by the true connoisseur of this remarkable creation.

Erm, dunno. Maybe that's why you can't even give them away?!?

Hugh you pimpster , trying to rob me of a sale LOL
I must admit the design of your wheels are a lot nicer than the redline ones

even with the customized (kerbed ) look.
if I hadnt got my alloys and yours werent 13's I would have had them
Robbieg the choice is up to you

Steve I totally agree with you thats why I changed them in the first place (plus the improved brake cooling due to the spoke design of my new alloys is a bonus )

a couple of members already run the 15" 400 alloys and afaik have no problems with them , I dont think a drop of 30 or 40 mm will cause any problems ,obviously a low profile tyre will help here and keep the total rolling diameter closer to the original and therefore should not affect your speedo to much . the other ( gorgeous ) alloys are 6 1/2 j where as most alloys are 5 1/2 j,I am not sure whether the wider rim may be a problem or where you can find out

440 alloys have lower profile tyres to start with so the rolling diameter is ~ the same.
other alloys may fit, but ya have to remember to figure in the cost of 4 new tyres - probably around £150 - if you're buying them.
mine will probably clean up. there is light curbing and some brake dust on them, but overall the condition is very good - and as they're 300 alloys you dont have to tell yer insurance (unlike fitting 400 series alloys) and they are the only known set of these wheels in the country!

Sorry to have gone on so much about the redline alloys, but a certain someone did dare me.
I promise to leave this thread well alone now.

15" 440 rims fit fine. Ideally you need to be on 195 50 15 tyres though as this is the exact size to match the standard rims!!! As 440 rims used 185 55 15 tyres on the 440. This is not a real problem as i ran the tyres i got with my rims until they were shot, then bought some 195 55 15's. As for lowering there is only so much you can go then it starts to rub. Dai (classicswede) has a 340 lowered to 305mm floor to arch and he only has 15mm travel on his front shocks!!! as for the back there isn't as much probs there!!
I am in the process of lowering mine with the help of Dai, he is the bloke to ask!!! I'm going 40mm all round. Anyways here is a pic of my car on 15's!!! (She started as a 340 DL also by the way!!!)
