If they are that close to identical, then the 360 is definately the way to go. I hadnt realised they were.

Looking at ebay earlier, I never realised they built a 3dr, how rare are these, are the lighter/stiffer?

What brakes are on the 3 series? Im running 256 vented disks on a nova, and 288mm vented disks on a corsa, can you really get decent breakes under 14s, or am I better to for something like 205/45/15?

I understand about keeping wheel mass low, but there comes a pont where handling is ideal, on the nova for instance I run 195/45 15s as these have the same rolling radius as the original 165/70 14s.

I assume all 300 series are leaf sprung on the rear? Being a de dion axle instead of a live axle, I assume loaction isnt a problem, and thus they can handle well on these without axle tramp etc?

Cheers again, Al

The stock brakes are 234mm solid disks. I am currently building a bigger brake setup to fit under 15" volvo rims running 195 50 15 tyres.
As for front brakes its not as easy as you may think, the first obstacle is getting a big enough disk to fit with clearance for a caliper.
My setup will be 280mm vented disks.

I assume brakes from larger models dont simply bolt on?

TBH i want at least a 280 vented disk. If i can find a disk that will fit with the correct offset, then making up brackets for 4 pots or whatever isnt TOO hard.

Does anyon know if the 5cyl audi blocks are the same as t5 blocks? (just an inkling from PPC)

What power are you ultimately aiming for? Then that will go hand in hand with what engine choice and what braking/suspension requirements that you need.

Although you're keen on the T5 engine, you seem to have overlooked the redblock engine option - which is equally as tuneable, and almost bolt in place (in a 360 anyway).

250-300 initially, but ultimately whatever is achievable on std internals.

I just fancy the t5 engine for the noise, and the wtf factor when you open the bonnet lol.

Im not convinced it wont bolt in, but Im still looking.
