Well im going to do some changes to improve the durability of my car. Going to change all the rubber tubes in the engine bay, spark plugs, cables, clean the refrigeration system, etc.

Seeing the answer of ronnie on another topic i have to ask you all something. Seeing the photo on the right of the square there are some tubes tha came from the exhaust in to the air filter system, do i gain something by blocking them? Beeing like that what do they do? and blocked?

Sorry for my English

Thank you all

Hugo
I don't think that it is worth the trouble to remove those pipes. There is no gain in performance, well a tiny bit because of weight saving, but then again leaving wiper fluid to half way does more.

Bit similar tubes as them in my V8, but I don't know how those should really work in 360 as those really should not do anything by judging from that pic, there is no vacuum or pressure in air intake tube, there should not be pressure from those tubes that actually are connected to cylinder head, there is small hole in exhaust port for them, also those cylinder shaped objects are one way valves that prevent hot exhaust gas to flow freely to rubber pipe and to plastic air intake pipe. In my V8 there is air pump that blows air into those pipes, but there is no such in 360 at least not in that pic.

So it should be same result if those are or are not present in car, maybe tiny bit less exhaust carbon to intake side, but it is really subtle effect.

If you seek more performance, replacing cam shaft is easy and something one can actually feel, air filters and emission system removal is not worth it, imo.

Reliability is improved best by opening all electric connectors and cleaning them, also ground points should be all opened, cleaned and protected with battery grease or something like that. Fuse box is common failure point and also relays inside dashboard, take instrument cluster off and you gain good access to them. If those are ok, then cleaning injectors is not bad choice. I would worry mostly electrics in reliability wise, rest is so fail proof technology that there is hardly anything that can fail.

Hugo, your english is just fine. I deleted the hot air feed, and then I deleted the whole airbox. Just bolted a cone air filter onto a 90⁰ bend from the air meter. Several people have told me that this wont improve performance, but it does, and it sounds good too.

Not sure how this would affect your LPG install though - you seem to have a few extra pipes plumbed into your induction system.

I did opposite, I had cone kind of filter and installed air box and tubing with standard filter, all that it did change was that there was less sound, could not measure any difference with dyno.

Of course, there is one factor: sound = power :D

I had not those exhaust recycling things though, but those really should not affect a lot. Of course I had programmable engine management and no air flow meter things to restric air flow.

Quite different experiences, who knows what is the truth, but IMO anything less than 10% measured power increase is not really helping with anything as engine has not too much power to start with.
I did cam, fueling and ignition, I got ~40% increase in power with stock filter system, then it started to feel ok(ish) and also clock did show difference

Engines like cold air - cold air is denser and will give more power. Therefore, preheating the air intake is madness. I think it was done for emissions reasons. I run a B19E, perhaps this responds better to increased breathing than a B200 - all I know is that it revs better.

With carbs cold air can be bad thing, specially if it is damp air, carbs tend to ice so that is perhaps one thing why preheating was invented. With fuel injection it is less important to have dry appropriate temp air into intake, it still is present for engine to heat up faster and thus making less emissions, so I think you are very right with injection engines.

B19 has bit different internals, B200 is low friction engine making it respond quite lazy (mostly because there was something with guiding piston which made engine to not like from revs) , but with some mods it comes alive pretty well, but I think B19 is still better to start with, probably with same mods B19 could do better if there is just good compression ratio.

Would love to get B19, it demands for big truck turbo to be put into side of it

Hi Hugo,

back on the subject of teh hot air pipes if you run LPG all the time you have no need for them and they can make the LPg run lumpy when cold. When I do a conversion I always remove the hot air pipes or block them off.

I hate sunroofs because they leak. Try some photos of the seal fitted perhaps someone will see what is wrong.

Very sexy Hugo.
I love white 300s, and it really suits the matching bumpers on a mark 3.
Lovely!

Lovely, limited edition car! Looks great on those early Portugese plates too, without the blue Euro banner ...

Tom

Yes, here we can have this plates if the car has some age. They are a litle old but im waiting for new ones, but same has this.

Now im aspecting for some new parts for the front and rear suspension, it needs then badly. Other problem im having is that the
water tank, to wash the front window is broken, is it still possible to buy a new one there in UK?

Tks

Yeah there's one on the UK ebay currently but couldn't you just make one out of a milk carton or something?
