It didn't have channels but they have been sorted, it's just the arch that needs sorting, well at least for the MOT, obviously there is other rust but gladly none of it is structural.
It's quite a beast only a 1776cc with twin 40's but i've spent more than i care to mention on the motor, it will however outrun my mates UK spec de catted Impreza Turbo up to 60mph so its good enough for me. I can get the needle touching back on the zero and its still got more to go but it's somewhat scary as fook at those speeds

Jesus. Thats one Hot Tamale dude.
If i pulled a thorn out of the popes butt and got three wishes, one would be for a solid hooligan Bug sleeper.
And it would have to be magically from a magic wish, coz i could never afford one.
Neither the money, nor the emotional pain and heartache of watching it get winter grit rot.
Koudos to you man.
Its the car thats given me the most falling out mouth dribble since that matt black Viva coupe mentler on RR.

Those motors are quite nice as if you build stock motor, there is plenty of cheap new parts available, also if one messes up, it is not a big problem, rebuild is rather easy and inexpensive.
Also one of easiest engine replacement jobs.

Thanks for the kudos guys.
Get a good bug and they are fine, get a bad one and a whole world of pain awaits- however they are as simple as a simple thing to fix, IF you can weld lol, the mechanics are childs play.
Engine out in 20mins anyone? Disconnect associated bit's 4 bolts and out it drops!
Any way Show me low Volvo's please

Really Chris?
Sorry mate, thought it looked low.
Mind you, i did have to hunt through for one that looked right.
Suppose that should have flagged up in my head as a warning sign.

Johns blue, Liams silver and mine are all down 2" front and back.
Not sure on the rest but all 2 or 3 i recon.
2 feels great. Seems to improve handling a lot without much (if any) comfort sacrifice (as long as your shocks are good).
Never been in a -3 though.

Lol, no worries, I can't afford to loose suspension travel with the stuff I do, well, I will do but only when I've got my head round what I want.
The white rollerskate (sorry, car) that was Nev's was sat on the bumpstops from memory, I think he just took an angle grinder and removed the springs

My old man had a mental lunatic Magnum when i was a nipper, been smitten since then.
Youre gonna have to have quite a big profiles, or a gap with 13s man. even with a drop.
Go as big as you can stomach.

This is the one i saw on the M25 the other day, apparently it's got a 2" drop but even with the small tyres i don't think the arch gap looks too big, and it sat nice and low on the road.

Think im obsessed by arch gaps now.
To me, that looks big.
But my wire wheels are 14s, and the cars only down -2, so its probably going to look similar.
Im sure i'll soon come round to thinking that kind of gap is very acceptable!
