Come to Ireland for proper stupidly high prices.
Nah, your's is number 1 in expensive countries list in EU, I think ours is just 3rd, I doubt if they even bother to list UK, everything there is a bargain when compared to our countries

Now as UK is in EU, wouldn't it be possible to get quote from let's say from France and save that way?

Our insurance prices are not really bad compared to UK, but our yearly taxes are going silly now with greenies at handle of power, we pay from owning a roadworthy car.

Around 500 euros per year for 360 here and I get from that some -20%, our no claims is car based, not individual based. French crap was something around 130 euros as I transferred my original insurance to that, something to do with 15 years of no claims.

€500 (after haggling) for insurance on my GS 1222cc (okay, it's a sporty X2  ) but that's with a maximum no-claims discount (65%?). Can get cheap for a classic, but can't as a daily driver as I need the miles.

Apart from a totally uncompetitive market (very few insurance companies). A lot of driver's here (despite what they might think) can't actually drive. And the accident rate confirms this.

These signs tell you something as well

Are we talking about a CITROEN GSX2?? I used to work for a Citroen dealership in the mid seventies but I haven't seen a GS in years. Pictures please... :D

The cheapest insurance quote I got this time round was with Saga - about £180. Being 50 has it's benefits I guess but I'd rather be 38 (the way I look in my photo  ) and pay a fortune..

I had a couple of speed camera 'indiscretions' in 2006 which haven't cleared from my licence yet so my insurers are still applying a loading... :(

I love your GS. I actually won a Citroen apprentice award for the quickest front brake pad replacement. I can't remember the time but around 2 minutes from memory...

Well just got an auto renewal email for the 850 which i must ring up and cancel as dont intend driving it ever again once the insurance runs out.

It was £325 fully comp for a 3,000mile limted mileage policy using my 2nd policies 2year NCB discount Excess £250 and windscreen is now £90. Soon be cheaper to buy a windscreen than use insurance. This is with Adrian flux.

Hopefully use this NCB to insure the 750R

Will let you know how much my yank tank will cost using my 12yr ncb discount policy when i go to insure it the begining of the month. Have been quoted £330 i think for it so far on price comparisons.

Haha...if only you knew what a psychic prediction that would prove to be!

Oh...and I very much doubt that Adam's area does him any favours re: insurance (depending on where it's insured...er...I'll just shut up!).

cheers

That's just nuts!

I have a number of friends who are Swansea natives, and although I know it has improved a lot in recent years, I'm aware of the reputation your area used to have...

Common thing that. TPO or TPFT can be more expensive than COMP, it all depends on who's underwriting the policy. Given the 10K year and 20 year old car, have you tried any of the "classic" insurers. Some good deals to be had with them.

A shade over £1100 for a 17 year old is pretty good, if you ask me. Plenty of people paying more like £2k for similar metal. My first year's policy on my 360 (not much more than a 340, to be fair) was £700 at 20, and insurance has gone up a fair bit since then.

cheers
