That isn't "Volvo Broad" MJ. I do have a copy of that font if anyone wants it. It's the one they use(d?) on adverts, etc.

I take it all back. I just tried it myself, and VolvoBroad has the most ridiculous angle on it when you get it on a gangsta lean.
In other words, it clearly is VB!
Undecided about the arches...I quite like the stock arch profile, and the use of rivets will make it rather hard to go back. Having said that, they do have the makings of looking badass. Will have to see it in the flesh
cheers

Ali I have folled your progress with car mate and not replied really, but hats off to you sir, I believe if most other drifters put this kind of effort and time into their cars rather than just the welded diff and lowering they'd get alot more respect, well done mate looking forward to seeing the car at a meet
Erm, I've lost my keys again...
Yeah thats what I thought, was a little worried whilst drilling into them but at the same time I didnt feel guilty whilst drilling through my glass fibre poundland black spray painted arches lol, the fronts wern't a perfect finish anyway so it hides it nicely haha, also makes it slightly (artificially) lower as ive mounted the plastic arches low down on the metal ones. Really needs spacers now but not a clue what to do with the front arches underneath

Hmm....well getting rid of them would be best done by 'straightlining' the arch further up....i.e. cutting out the 'triangle' of metal which comes down to form the 'point' of the arch, then welding in a flat piece to replace it.
I'd be a touch careful of the spacers, as if they move the tyre out, it might affect your suspension geometry in a bad way. This would be a perfect time to do some radical suspension modifications to suit the new arch profile...but far easier said than done!
cheers

Hmm yeah true, trouble is im happy with how it works for the moment, haven't found any problems so don't really want to go changing things just to make it look better and perform like crap! For the wheel to sit flush with the plastic arch I need 50mm spacers all round, it'd have a bloody mean stance to it then! Problem is, on full lock I have about 1cm between the tyre and plastic arch so if I space them out then i'll be hitting it, the cars just too damn low
REALLY don't want to go for 13s and I don't think i'd have the ground clearance to make it anywhere at all then

Yeah man, the 13" look is awesome, but it's in danger of getting played out. I'd say keep pimping the larger rims. I'd love to see a 300 on a set of Volk TE37s in 16", for example.

cant you just get the original arches rolled ,
it costs £30.00 an arch round our way but at least you wont have any bare sharp edges to worry about.
you can do it yourself ghetto style by making several cuts in the return (flat horizontal lip ) and then ,after heating the metal , bend the lip up .
then just put some paint over the bare edges of the folded up lip to stop rust .
with your plastic arches you wouldent see whats gone on underneath anyway

Yeah James thats what I was thinking, I reckon the cars low enough to get away with bigger rims, now imagine 16s with plenty of dish and the tyres to make the the same rolling radius as standard
shame I can't afford any haha
Mick, thats what I was thinking, since the arches are covered I don't need to worry about using a proper arch roller but i'm not convinced its possible to roll the fronts, it all seems too structural
