Ali, is that turbo and header straight off a B200T? Just there's a 940 wentworth just arrived at the scrappy near me and if there's no engine mount clearance issue I'm gonna nab the whole engine out of that.
Top work by the way, much respect. :D

Yeah the kit Ali has was originally from a B200FT. You'll need the injection wiring loom and flywheel from the Wentworth if you plan to run it on the 940 management. Which isn't alot of fun as we started pulling a loom last week, it all gets very confusing

Yeah tis a wentworth setup, its a bit weird though as the engine mount was ground down quite a bit on the 360 that it came out of so I can't guarantee it'll clear but seems to be fine on mine

Be good to see the pictures James, my mate said he's got a spare oil line for his S13 that I can try see what its like, not a clue if its likely to be compatible. Think i'm going to order a load of new gaskets today, is Volvo best? Need rocker cover, exhaust manifold and manifold to turbo gasket. Is it worth considering re-using the original manifold gasket or am I likely to just create issues for myself if they blow further down the line

I'd go new. They very rarely need replacing, and as you've found out, they're a bit of a slag to do, so why give yourself a headache further down the line. I'll browse though my pictars tonight - remind me if I forget!

cheers

Took a trip to the local parts place, £11.20 later....

Got the exhaust manifold gaskets, couple of studs to replace the snapped one's and need to go back tomorrow to get more nuts as I appear to have misplaced them when I took them off  Also very confused about the rocker cover gasket, where are the arcs at the ends for the cam!? Said that to them and they checked the part number again and it was definately the right one, kept the reciept so will no doubt be going back. Anyone know if the turbo to manifold joint has a gasket?

Also got the snapped studs out of the head this evening :D

That gasket looks the same as the one I just put on, it came flat, you then form it around the ends of the cam, then it pushes into the corners when you press the cover down on it.

Might actually get the time to sort out my radiator next week...

Be careful when installing new rocker cover gasket, it is easy to install so that it is not sealing properly. First thing that usually goes wrong is that mechanic just takes out old one and puts new one in, wrong method, cleaning after removing old one is needed. Pay attention to rocker cover and head's surfaces, remove all dirt and old gasket that has sticked to them.

You can use sandpaper too, but be careful not to let any dust/particles inside of head, that is area that is needed to keep 100% clean.

When bolting rocker cover back do it similar way you tighten cylinder head bolts, just a little bit of each bolt at time and always go to opposite side, so that rocker cover won't bend.

Ok, you can get away without following these procedures but so you can drive from work to home without oil too and when you top it can be still fine, such things have happened but that is unlikely.

When done properly there is no any leaks at all.

Yes, the 'arched' one comes flat, and you form it to the correct shape. Having said that, also bear in mind that the gasket for a B17/19/21/23 is different, as these heads had a different head and valve cover flange shape.

Volvo have never used manifold to turbo gaskets as far as I'm aware. Some people add them for the T3 turbo/manifold combos, but the TD04 / 90+ setup has that 'step' in it which acts in place of a gasket.

Yeah this is definately the one for a B200e, I did hope that step might create the seal, looks like i'm all set to assemble it properly tomorrow then, then off comes the sump :D

No pictures today but assembled the turbo/manifold properly, got the oil return line onto the turbo and its long enough to reach the sump which is good news. Downpipe was a mile off so i've spent all afternoon cutting and shutting it, its not pretty and probably not the best flowing by quite some margin but it'll get the car running anyway! Oil lines next and then the car can run again :D
