I wouldn't even bother to try to fit a stock plastic end Volvo intercooler, those are old design, only plus is the size of the core, but as it doesn't have internal fins, the cooling capabilities aren't too good. I would save some money and fit a custom aluminium cooler, or find a suitable from some other model. At least Vauxhall/Opel Frontera intercooler seems to fit right. :P

I'm going to fit a custom made intercooler at next summer, in that way I get as large core as it's possible to fit without cutting the body.

Right well not really much of an update as i've still got loads of uni work on, some exhaust clamps came in the post last week (local parts didn't stock any big enough haha) so the exhaust system is clamped up properly now, went to the scrappy today to pick up this for the grand sum of £10 :D

That is a perfect fit... how are you ducting air to it Ali? I really don't want a perforated bumper! I still reckon that 240 ram... maybe...

Not sure yet, either be big holes like husky did or cut out like this.....

Image

Reckon it might look alright as it'll be quite hidden and might look alright with the front valence, just cut it up to where the bumper insert bit is, hopefully won't cause it to sag either, haven't actually looked at the bumper yet though so hoping the crash bar thing isnt behind it

Hi Ali,

Don't you better mount the intercooler on the side of the car

Very good work Ali!

I will cut like you show one that picture.

The holes are ugly.

Do the in and out of the intercooler match the holes in the car?
