Ahh, cunning Ali, might work. The main metals in the bumper are where the matt black section is, so you should be ok!

Excellent work Ali!

I was thinking of cutting two slots in the underside of the bumper, and bending it 'up' rather than 'down'. Almost invisible, and should help a lot.

Top tip - 940 turbos with AC have an intercooler which should be close to fitting perfectly. It's also marginally better designed, if slightly smaller. Non-AC cars have the bigger 'top inlet' IC.

I'm still a little worried about that drain fitting. Since it operates under gravity (and almost no pressure), it's important that there are no 'uphill' sections. I can't quite work out the resulting angle from that pictar.....but it might be worth considering putting a pair of wedge shaped washers in to 'tilt' the fitting in the hole so it points downwards. Again, it could be a load of fuss about nothing, but if it's an easy adjustment, it might be worth some piece of mind...and I know how grumpy you'd be if you had to get another turbo sm56

cheers

Right update without pictures as my internet sucks (will let me onto a few select sites occasionally, imageshack not being one of them! something to do with the BT line so should be sorted soon)

Managed to get the oil return onto the sump yesterday, removed the oil pressure port (had to go buy a deep 24mm socket, bloody glad I did as it was tight as hell!)

Hacked the square hole out of the front bumper last night, fitted it back on this morning and looks pretty good, i'll upload a picture when I can.

This morning I got the sump back on the car and all nicely tightened up, also found the original oil feed is the same end fittings as I need (turbo end is the same obviously and the other end is the same thread as the oil pressure port :D ) Just need to find a local hydraulics company to make up my feed line, bolt it on and she's ready to run :D (the moment of truth to find out what i've done wrong/if i've got a smokey turbo or something)

I'll get pics up as soon as I can get onto imageshack

Haha it was the highest I could lift the body on the jack and I don't have any axle stands lol, can still only just get under it on my back! Going to see someone about the oil feed tomorrow, might be running by the weekend if I can get it made up this week :D

Find a hydraulics firm. That's where we get them done. Make sure it's a steel braided hose capable of holding serious pressure. IIRC, Ryan's drain line was tested to 4k PSI! At the risk of stating the obvious, it's a safety critical item. The drain is less important, but the quality of the feed is vital.

Huge axle stands are £10 a pop at Machine Mart.

Screwfix had a grand deal on some sturdy axle stands, a clearance offer, a tenner a pair for some big heavy duty high ones.

They seem to have moved over to a different style now, which 6 tonne ones, which are also very high, are less than £20 a pair!

Foggy is right, Machine Mart are pretty good. Sadly there isn't a shop very close to me, so I don't get to visit them very often.

Hellfrauds 3 tonne stands are fine, got two sets, I seem to think they were a tenner a pair.

Impressive work Ali, looking very good indeed. I hope all goes well, good luck mate!

any idea if you can get a turbo manifold for a 360glt - i forget what engine it has  (for future plans of course) or is it not worth it and i should drop in a 2.3 na/turbo?

AMR - this is a 360glt, standard engine, just with the B200ft manifold put onto it from a 940 wentworth

James, I spoke to a guy that works for Driftworks and he said they can get them made up (they already sell the popular ones in the shop, S13, S14 skyline etc) i'm popping off on my way home to have a chat with them

I'm assuming you mean that in jest!

As there might be people on here who don't know - You never ever leave a car on bricks if you're going to be working under it, they can crumble, with obvious and unwanted consequences! The same with jacks, which can slip and let the car fall off.....

As the posts above say, axle stands are cheap, there's no excuse not to use them!
