I know mine had new shocks not all that long ago, but if they've not been done for a while they start to get veeeery floaty. Al's black GLT was damn scary - on the originals at 145k!!

I think mine is at that stage.. original shocks as far as I'm aware! Foggy, how does yours compare with relatively new shocks?

Well....what I mean is that they're not the originals, and I remember them being replaced! If they are original at this kinda mileage, you'd probably seriously know about it with such a heavy car - Als would supposedly rock from side to side above 90mph!

I'm fairly happy with my handling given that its stock, and the 'lazy' non-injection setup. From memory the difference with new shocks was huge.

cheers

Push your cars front corner down and let it rise, how many bumps until it settles down?

I have 3 or 4 bumps. Shocks with unknown mileage.

Rear just rises up, no bumps at all. Rather new shocks, maybe 3000-5000km with them.

Mine doesn't bump as much as that.. I think I might be being a little unfair, my last car had very recent shocks on it.

Think I will invest in some new shocks at some point.. but for the choice I'm unsure about at the moment.

Bump the corner a few times to build some momentum up, then release. It should go down, up, stop. Any more and its new shocks time!
