I'm running on some very old Hakkapeliitta 1 (Nokian) tyres with all the studs ripped out. I'll have to check tomorrow how old they actually are. There's maybe 5 mm of tread still on them, but that's probably so hard it will never wear down below the legal limit (3 mm) anyway. But as they're marked M+S they're "street legal" although very slippery... that can only add to the fun of RWD in the winter.

I have in storage few of Hakkapeliitta 1 copies, some cheapest tires anyone can find, they came with frech FWD crap. It has never come to my mind to put those under the car, I may go out at -20C with t-shirt, I may do some shoveling of snow in slippers, but I will never consider those to be a tires for winter use, even they are black and somewhat round with tiny spikes. Somehow I prefer good grip, it is torque then that makes wheelspin and tail hanging out, no torque, no fun

Here we have lot of snow, from those pics, something arond a foot has falled from skies. Lot of work to shovel that off from yard, 1000 square meters to be kept clean, I leave rest of yard snow covered as it would be too much of work.

A picture from the Esso next door. The pic is from last year, but it's probably even more snow now - and it's -23°C :)

UUUUUUUUUUUuuuUUuuuuurrrrgh.
Im sick of snow now.
Got stuck 3 times in an impromptu blizzard picking the woman up from work. It snower hard for about an hour tonight, on top of lying snow, slush and ice.
Got stranded once when i stopped in deep snow at a set of lights. (rocked it out on the throttle and slid sideway over the other lane on the way off.) Yahooooooooo!
Once in her works car park. (secret handshake to the security lads bought me a push and a wave).
Then on my own street (very deep) on the way back. - neighbours had to help me push it into a paralel park.

The conclusion is that im a terrible snow driver.
the spirit of human kindness is alive and well though. :D

So, apart from tyres, do you mainland european hardcore snow drivers have any top tips?
Theres another week of this sh!t forecast, and I'll be lucky to get the car out of my street tomorrow. :(

Do you just push the car in sideways for a parallel park?
I'm not looking forward to my journey back to York :(
