I know yer, the belt was mega f*cked lol!

Well i'm a happy boy today! Managed to fix my little running problem easily and free!(if only all problems could be resolved this way! )

Top hose in this picture had come off the fitting causing the carb to lean out thus not running right with the choke fully off..

Image

Glad that's all it was! So to treat Vince I picked up a new space tube for him as this was all that was left of the old space tube....

Image

 so hopefully should run that little bit better again now. Also before I fitted it I took the air snorkel off and gave the flap spring a spray with some silicone oil. I don't know how long that tubes been missing for so the spring probably hasn't been in use for a good while!

I know it's another boring update sorry lol! I will start on some good stuff soon I promise! :340:

Hey guys, well with a MASSIVE thanks to mr VND I now have my awsome (to me at least lol  ) steering wheel fitted into my car :D came home from work today to find a nice square parcel waiting for me on the window sill, my steering boss yay!

So out I went to the car, got the old wheel out, and got the pimpy wheel in 8) easy enough swap over with the hardest parts of the job being cutting off the little locating nib on the slip ring as there was now indent in the boss for it (no biggy as it can only go in one way anyway), taping up the unused horn button connectors and modifying the connector on the Mountney horn button to accept the original volvo connector so I didn't have to hack any wires to peices and meaning it can easily be reverted back! (Not that i'll be doing that!

Anyway! Out with the old!!!

Image

and in with the minty fresh new! 8)

Image

It feels awsome haha not to mention looks awsome! The outer diameter of the Mountney just fits inside the inner diameter of the original wheel, to give you an idea of the size difference! Self cancel and obviously horn all work as before too, booyah! That is all for now! :340:

Whar man!
Does look preety mint.

Nice call on the wheel dude, really looks 627% cooler in the cockpit now.
Im with Steve And MCHUDD on the spinny needle front. Visable revs rock.
Get an Econometer in as well. Then you can see how much fuel youre wasting.
RED!!!!! NEEEDLE IS IN THE REEEEEEEED! (change up) -Drops to black for a split second- NEEDLE IS STILL IN THE REEEEEEEEEED! 8)

Haha thanks guys, it feels well mint with that wheel on too, actually starting to get some feeling of good handling now lol!

TBF I've always found the 340 handles well, it just never feels it due to the amount of body roll in standard guise!

As for the rev counter I had thought about it although I wanna get other things sorted first. For now if you like I can tip-ex it to look like a rev counter lol? "No way manz doing 10K RPM'z!" "no mate thats 10 o'clock" lol!I'm sure i'll fit one eventually. As for the econometer, it hurts me enough watching the MPG gauge on the BMW lmao!

Hey guys, well a very unwanted update this evening! Been messing about trying to sort out my running problem (see my other thread in the technical section)

First of all I tried having a little play with the fuel mixture which did pretty much nothing tbh (I didn't go too mad with adjustments beings as though I have no tuning equipment)

I then replaced the hose from the bottom of the carb that goes to the breather on the rocker cover as the previous one was very badly cracked!

After that the car decided to run alot worse, like a complete bag of nails! I tried reverting to the default form of tune and try work back from that but it's done absolutely nothing! :(

Going to have one last try with it tomorrow before I just f*ck it off down to my friends garage and tell him not to give it me back until its running again

Well p*ssed off :(

I'll try grasp what little good side there is to this post. The new radiator turned up today lol!

eeeeh remember my post?

It's actually IN the old hose? I read your post wrong obviously and thought you meant the restrictor valve WAS the T-peice on the rocker! F*ck i'll get in the bin!!!

As soon as I pulled the hose out the bin I noticed the bulge where the valve is straight away! Thank god I put that post up for you to reply to it.

Thanks alot for replying and reminding me how much of a dummy I am :340: Going to try and patch the old hose up for now and see how things go, in the meantime do you know if you can buy those hoses or the restrictor valves at all? If not i'm going to have to try cutting the old valve out and fitting it into the new hose somehow!

There is a difference between early and late mate, but on mine I cut a new piece of hose in two and put a new bit each side of the restrictor.

Some are built in magic ones, some are separate I seem to think
