Tappets do need doing after all.
oil and filters next, I'll let it settle down a bit too+retighten+retune after a few blasts....

Are you absolutely certain that it is not the cable?CBA wrote:Has anyone got a manual to the weber 32 dir, I know something is wrong with it still but I can't figure it out, an exploded diagram would do..
Thing is the throttle isn't closing totally, I can push the throttle to close it manually, then it idles, but as soon as I've pressed and released the accelerator it sticks at 1200rpm again, I've adjusted everything, slackened the cable, shortened the linkage, adjusted the 2nd throttle cam follower, soaked it in wd40 and brushed it clean, tightened down again after a few heat cycles, made another carb gasket with loving care that took 3 hours to cut- everything.
All I can think is the carb has a bent 'something'.
Studying the diagram and/or manual should have me sorted.
It's ticking over really steady though when I force the throttle closed![]()
(bogbasic) The service history has 2 new receipts in it

Despite it being 2.30am, I'm going to make some useful suggestions.CBA wrote:my pc has no internet.
I can take part of pic and enlarge that one section if you need, also here is direct link to pic, which may or may not work with your phone:CBA wrote:thanks jtbo, that's exactly what I wanted.
This chocolate cellphone can't open a big pic without pretty much reprogramming it, which is a nice challenge.
Cant upload pics of my 'bran spanking old' carb and manifold either
I think that your phone might be able to share internet to your pc too, but it might need some sorcery and wizards, pc would then need walls and fences as well as bug patrols, but still might be doable without too much of hazzle, however you would need some lad with bottle bottom glasses to do all that wizard stuff.CBA wrote:my pc has no internet.
Text me your address and I'll sort out send the info in the post to you if that will help.CBA wrote:thanks jtbo, that's exactly what I wanted.

It has faded a bit since I first got it.... here it is gleaming in the leafy lanes of Dorset in 1998, but after 15 years people say it is looking a bit more on the bronze side. How many colours is this car? It changes every hour. Stainless, Gold, Gunmetal, Silver, Chrome, Bronze, Zinc!
