Hi James, I asked the garage to keep everythig they took off the car - checked the car and the strut's not there! Mind you the spring had dug into the tyre and had a very sharp edge on it so it will probably be a right-off!

Isn't that annoying when that happens. I'd give the garage a phone and see if they've kept it otherwise it'll just get thrown away. Even if the spring isn't saveable there are useful parts brackets etc that could be re-used.

I took my car into a bodyshop to get some work done and they knew I knew about cars so I got presented with my car put 99% back together and a box of left-over bits :? They also couldn't work out what I'd done with some extra wiring for the ECU and consequently blew the fuel pump relay...luckily they didn't blow the ECU! The upside is the bodywork they did was first class.

Its bad enough when a local garage does things like that.

A freind took his new beetle in to the main dealer to have a car kit fitted. It came back with only two screws holding the dash in.
