Shouldn't if it's been welded strong enough Id've thought - we seem to be having lots of 300's with dead diffs lately.... is it more the case the welds are breaking and wrecking the diff more than anything?

Remember to put OIL in them, i know of 2 people on here that "heard" you dont need oil in a welded diff, But you DO!

What grade oil does my diff need????

The data book I have to hand says SAE90. A high 'tens' number like 80 or 90 rings a bell, but get your local factors to check it (or look in the Haynes manual). Basically, it needs to be THICK gear oil.

Bought some 200sx wheels the other day cheap as chip for my next 200 its a pitty they dont fit the volvo.

True...AE86s must be one of the most brutally 'scene taxed' cars in recent years.

I have sold this on to a mate of mine and guess what

ITS BROKEN AGAIN

the diff blow up on me and now it seems the box has gone on him he cant get it into anygears :oops:

Its popped out of 5th on the motorway then he couldnt get anygears.

Anybody got a box
