What are you plans regarding the suspension. I imagine there's not a lot to do with the front, but replacing the leaf springs with some sort of IRS would be cool...it already has the diff setup for it!

Why IRS? if that dedion was made properly, it would be awesome. If I finally get some pennies to stay around I'm gonna get involved on my plan, though no idea if it'll work

I am in agreement with chris on this for the moment, whilst irs is often the main route. Dedion is a very good setup and with a little thought it ought to be possible to iron out all the little 300 rear sus problems. Chris get some damn pennies or lets just put the plan into action on ptf...
on another note, I noticed your car has coilovers in parallel with the standard setup. Were the turrets properly strengthened (possibly the roll cage covers this?), as they surely arent designed to take extra force?

Nev's white 340 drift machine was the same - with the IRS mounted direct into the (non-structural) arches. I asked him at a meet whether they could take it, he assured me they could but later heard that some rather large cracks had appeared....
The way to do it is to bring a structural tube frame up from the leaf spring mounting points, through the floor panel and up over the arch, and bolt into that.

nev didn't have IRS did he? I thought even his latest offering was still a dedion, just that he used coilovers in place of the leaf and damper setup and a watts link for better location. Either way, he told me he had problems with link points tearing etc. hence why I didn't buy a kit from him
, as rally is going to be as (if not more) brutal than drifting on a chassis.

I don't understand what's up with that "moving" thing. I'm a moderator here, I'm also a moderator on the Finland's largest Volvo site with +11000 members. Still I frequently read turbobricks, savarturbo.se, turboperformanceclub.com, 300power.com etc...
I don't see that one forum or site replaces another.

IRS when built and set up properly would be ideal, but it is a pig to get it spot on. An easier option and one which would be an improvement on the the leaf springs would be a change to parallel trailing arms and panhard rod or watts linkage. The underside would probably require some strengthening but there should be more than enough room to do it.
