Will get a few piccies over the next day or few. It looks pretty cool I must say albeit I expected it to sit quite a bit lower in all honesty regardless though i'm happy with it
Got pressed plates ready for it too, just need plate holders to arrive and get those fitted!

Re: Vincent the Volvou!
Hey guys, well yesterday I finally got some pics of Vincent now lower
I'm happy with how it's come out, especially in the better handling but I personally was expecting (hoping) for it to have sat much lower than how it has ended up. If i'd known what height it would have sat at 3" then I think I would have gone for 4" lol! Regardless it's a MAJOR improvement on how it was!

Up in the air and ready to play lol
And after 2 evenings of tatting...

Also with the new wheels fitted and pressed metal plates fitted too
Also today went over to BKV and had a good time meeting some faces from here etc. and FINALLY managed to pick me up a new wing from J340GLT (Thanks mate!) So during this week I should get that resprayed and hopefully fit it next weekend, so should be all good

Re: Vincent the Volvou! Mmmmm Recaro Goodness!
Hey guys how are we all??
Well with the lead upto Retro show i'm making an attempt to at least make Vincent look possibly half decent lol! Theres only so many times I can say my wings purposely like it is for Rat Look lol! So one of the jobs i'd like to try and nail is to get my new wing painted up and fitted after being too damn lazy to do it for so long!
Another job which I started tonight however. I picked my RST Recaros up the other night. After measuring up the seat mounts were narrower than the Volvos seats meaning some slight modification was needed. I'd got some flat steel bar from work cut to the width of the original seat runners. These are to be my adaptor plates for mounting the Recaros to the seats. I'd only got 2 peices cut enough to make up one side. Tonight, armed with a pillar drill, a tape measure, and myself who is crap at maths
, I mocked up some adaptors
I'm quite proud of myself for being able to make them albeit a basic bit of work, i'm by no means a fabricator and like I say i'm crap at maths so i'm suprised my simple calculations actually worked out lmao!
Anyway I did it all using the passenger side as obviously I need to get to work in the morning, I also need the adaptors free for making copies at work tomorrow. It was a pain in the arse removing the seat runner from the original seat, as I tried to be as delicate as I could reaching the rear allen bolts should I have needed to use the seat again but with the adaptors made up I don't mind ragging the driver side apart tomorrow as the seats wrecked anyway tbf.
The Recaros don't sit as low as i'd have thought. I didn't realise they were actually quite tall until i'd got them in the car. They are actually a smidge lower than the original seats, but I think due to the longer back rest they feel higher. However they look awesome and hold very awesome too
Heres how the passenger side looks. I will be painting those adaptors I made to tidy them up but atm they have measurement markings on them lol!

From the front

Inside

Got this to try show the difference in height. If you can make it out, as I say not much lower but noticeably lower
I know my cars messy inside, i'm hoping to have my new wing painted and fitted by Friday so Saturday I can have a good cleaning session both inside and out to get it looking half decent for Retro Show at Pod
