Re: Umpteenth time lucky for AJR? lol

Ben, aye I could still do with one mate but I thought you were all out? Have you been to the dealer and acquired the last of their NOS?

Magnum, I won em mate. Although I'm not so sure that's a good thing now. I get the feeling even just having them collected from the seller is gonna be hard work!

Chris, I'm with you mate. I think they're all the same size. They look it in the pics and I can't remember ever seeing 14" ML's in Mini fitment TBH. Can you? Also if he is so retarded that he cannot list an item correctly and provide info in the description who's to say he's capable of operating a tape measure?

Fair point, well made! No, don't think I've never seen a mini on 14" lites, they would dwarf the poor thing!

Well the wheels tipped up today. happy to say all four are 13" lol.

I seem to have a problem though! When I fit the fronts, the wheel studs don't protrude at all, so I can''t even get a single thread on the nuts! Haven't attempted the rears yet, I imagine it will be the same story though. The centre of the wheel seems very thick - haven't measured yet. I guess they're pretty low ET, but it still make's no sense to me. I only tried for 2 minutes then it rained and I quit lol.

The CB is fine for clearance too. I can't see me needing longer studs as the Mini before me ran them with no sweat.
Pic to show the problem!

What is the lenght of standard 300 studs? I've read a post about Adam redrilling his hubs to take 14mm Subaru studs. I can get 65mm Nissan ones. I reckon they'd be just the job. Anyone?

Cant see the pic mate cuz i'm at work - Might be a stupid question but are the other 2 wheels the same offset?

you're not missing a spacer thats on the back are you - when I say missing, I mean its there, but has been for so long u didnt notice it. (had that problem with vics wheels and the brembo's. the spacer had been hiding on the back of the wheel on one side and general dirt had disguised it until u gave it a sideways tap.)

Ask mark to measure his studs dude - or get on a forum. I'm sure an ebay listing or sum1 here may know the standard stud length of a rover matchbox

I thought about the spacer/spigot ring being camouflaged too dude. Although that was after I packed away. Similar happened with my RL7's on the Nissan.

I'm over the filthy ones unit tonight so will have a look then. As for checking they're the same ET, haven't done that either. I plan to. IMO they will be though, as they were from a standard FWD Mini running Sportpack arches. Boo.

Update from Liam - The wheels wont go on, the centres are 33.11mm thick. Does anyone else who has minilites know how thick the centre is on their wheels??

Something makes me think they require the rediculously long and thin nut, that has a head poking out but the body fits in the hole of the wheel.

I know what I mean even if no one else does ;)

Sleevenut HAte!!!!!111!!!
Same thing happened to me with the Eunos wires I had man.
If you can drill out the minilites, ive got deep slevenuts (currently listed on the bay) that are correct thread for 300s.
Ignore the price, I'll swap you for 8 cans if theyre any use mate.

Riiiiiiiiiiight.

After NINE sets of wheels, some fit, most didn't, one was the original GLS steels and the other a loaner set from FJ I am now FINALLY sorted. The above magnesium ML's weren't with me for long!

My 13x7's came yesterday! I won these about two months ago but have had a right carry on with Paypal and then a mates mate not being in for the courier etc. now the saga is at an end! I do have 5 but have just had the four sent up for now.
A quick five minute jet wash (first for months lol) and some crap camera pics.

and one when I bought the car a year ago for comparison

I think I want the front end down another 20mm or so just so it sit's near enough level and cancels out a bit of that front arch gap. Sod this 3" drop carry on. At 2" I have twatted all of the oily bits off a few speed bumps etc. already. It is damn low now, and not always in a cool way. :/ lol

MOT time tomorrow! Wish AJR luck!

One random one, anyone recognise this?

Cheers Ben. Got a fw more little plans to tidy it up. May try on my mk3 grille in a bit. Always preferred the look of them, especially when debadged. It might look daft though.

Think J's diff bought the big one so tell him to get his hand in his pocket!
