hey ok well i got the windscreen out easy enough
i was wondering if any one has ever put one in?
any help would be great i am not shore if i will put it in my self or get a pro to do it

Unless youve done one before.
Theres a specialised tool for getting it back in propperly iirc.

how does that work?

I removed and refitted the windows in my mates 205 GTi, and that includes a brand new heated front screen, so yeah we were being careful! lol

As said above you need 'rope' of some description. String is more accurate description TBH. Fit the rubber to the glass, make sure the string's nice and strong (we used para cord) then just feed it into the rubber until you have two 'tails'' of string at the same place

Apply some washing up liquid to the inside of the rubber seal, make sure the tails of string are on the inside of the car. Line the screen up with the aperture in the car and apply some pressure from outside (follow the string) whilst the other person pulls on one end of the string. This will pull the rubber over the aperture and seal the screen. Once you start it becomes quite obvious.

I'm not sure if 300's have a 'fillet' strip too? If so, just watch mark Evans and get the special insertion tool. lol

If by "fillet strip" you mean the band/strip, which gives the windshield rubber more tension when in place, the the 300-series does have it.

Though I didn't even remove the strip from the windshield rubber when I removed and installed my windshield. Windshield comes out and goes in with a rope-method even if the strip is on place. There's more tension when fitting the windshield back in it's place but when you are carefull, it's possible to install it without removing the strip.

Usually when you remove the strip, it's old and brittle and breaks in to pieces so I didn't bother to remove it.

I use thickish gauge wire, 40AMP DC wire type stuff... and lots of washing liquid.

I think when I did glass on some previous cars, I used washing line.

it's easy if you know how, just need to know the method.. it;s not difficult, But that said I have seen some scrapyard workers break two screens before getting one in in one piece
