Insurance problems at 19

hi im new to the forum.
im trying to insure a 340gl 1.7 but it isnt going very well in the price range.
ive tryed all the usual sites and companys, any idea's who else i could try i have 0 ncb, and have been driving for almost 2 years.

You might already have, but if not, footman james, or any other classic speacialist.
Mention youre a member of V3M and say its a classic car club, or join the Volvo Owners club (pricey) and see if that gets a discount (it usually does).
Try limiting miles, if you go over there'll just be a surcharge on any claim (that you wont make).

But insurance prices ARE very high atm.
No getting around that.

Same problem when I was 19. So it's either

a) bus
b) crap low group car
c) move to a remote place which is low risk.
d) grow old

Can't help you more than what VND already has said.

try admiral mine was only £450 last year when I was 19 with no ncb, third party fire + theft, put your folks on it if u can or even girlfriends etc, just putting my 21year old lass on my rx-8's brought it down £800 no kidding :D

haha cheeky bugger its the fact that I had to pay her £900 to go out with me in the first place that I found weird haha

Im on a mortgage just to get our lass to sit next to me in the 340. :wink:

footman james, give them a call - as already been said. i'm with them and it was 924 quid - unlimited mileage and breakdown cover etc!

i rung them already, and they told me i have to be 25 to have a policy with them.

The insurance "products", that Footman James sells as a broker, do change from time to time. However depending on circumstances, they can and have insured under 25s.

(sometimes the particular operator you get might give the wrong answer. I've been told different reasons for the same thing)

thats odd, im only 17 and im insured with them :) if you tried to get a quote online... then you cant get one. so you have to call.
