Your car on Google Street View

Post by trabitom99 » 19 Nov 2010 05:55 pm

Google Street View went online in Germany last night, amid LOADS of controversy. The average German household seems to think Google is making home videos of their bedroom activities and about a quarter of houses have been blanked out.

Anyone spotted their car on Google Street View?

I was rocking a Morris Oxford at the time the Google Streetview car refused to go down my street (as it was a dead end).
So all I can contribute is.....

^ Sexy car!
Love it Tom 8)

In UK you don't have parking lots for houses as a standard?

Often I see how you have to park to side of road, here are such areas too, but quite few, usually there are parking lots next to apartment area or big yard on private homes.

Maybe it has some historical background or perhaps because there are so many people living on small area.

Of course 99% of this country is what you probably would class as countryside.

I used to live in here:
http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s ... =11,0,,0,5

I don't know how to embed that to post, I guess it is some way possible and don't ask why it is google.ca, I just used google to find the maps with streetview, even it would been easier to type address...

As you can see, there is parking lot with electricity poles for each car and so on, sometimes it is ridiculous how here things are done, putting damn door handle bump stops to walls even door has no handle etc.

All the houses were built before cars and roads were invented or commonplace mostly.
We are an old land, and only got inside toinets quite recently.

Indeed, I believe here was mile of ice while people where already hunting in there :D

Most houses here are build after the war, of course there were not many cars here and you did need permit to buy one, but before cars they did draw large yards for living which then were converted small yards for cars in many places

I would like to see google street view from late 1800
