You know bargain cars always seem to come up when youve got no money?

Well, spotted this on the VOC and couldnt really let it go by without making an offer.
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=114718

Unfortunatly, the kind gentleman selling it accepted my scrap value offer.
Which I wasnt really expecting or financially prepared for. Ulp

So, some juggling ensued. John (gawd blessim and all who sail in him) gave me a 0% finace on half the Pug*
Which kind of free'd up enough cash to buy and ship the tinker north.

Keep yerz fingers crossed for an easy test.
Few pics I have from the VOC listing:

Interesting mudflaps and headlight protectors. Dont know if theres any other goodies. Have to see when it turns up.
Should be landing on the 18th.
Test, tax, then Im gonna address bumpers down and see if I can freshen up the cosmetics a bit.

Eventually, what with it being a handy 1.7 and all, and with Chris-spec mounts on the horizon, and chips already done, its most likely gonna up the valve count somewhere down the road.

Cheers all.

Welcome back mate! What's a 1.7 like to drive compared to your other V300s? You've had em all now I think (1.4 vario, 2.0 carb, 2.0 inj) ...

What you need after this one (maybe next month or so ;-) ?) is a V300 diesel, just to complete the list :-)

Cheers

Tom

Its not getting delivered till the 18th Tom. So I dunno yet.
Ive done 1.4 manual, 1.4 vaio, 2.0 Carb and 2.0 Inj and from what ive heard 1.7s are similar to 2.0 carbed version for economy and performance. :?:
Im always on the lookout for a rottern 400 diesel with a decent engine going cheap. Think a dweezil lump would suit the cars quite well. And a conversion is frankly more likely than finding an Oirish market version in RHD.

That was the most I could pay, and the least hed take so both partys reasonably happy.

Still not bad at £175, I paid £150 for the totally unroadworthy Mk1!
