And so it goes on...

Do you ever wish you were conventional? You know, Mr 9 til 5 with one car and 2.4 children? Thankfully my kids are grown up (bit still sponging on the Old Man) but otherwise I think I'm regressing to my early twenties. I currently have three cars (excluding my wife's Aveo) and now the fleet is likely to be joined by ANOTHER Lada Samara. Sometimes I feel like I'm on a mission to save the unloved waifes and strays of the old car world with anything East European being welcomed with open arms. I actually blame my wife for her weakness in discouraging me..
Anyhow, the simple fact is that something has to give. I can't sell the Yugo because I'm a co-founder of the Zastava Yugo Club and editor of the club magazine. The Volvo can't be sold because its my daily driver, 100% reliable and in mint condition. I could never sell the Samara, after all its a 1996 model and one of the last to be sold in the UK. That only leaves the other Samara which I haven't bought yet - an early model with a genuine 10k miles on the clock.
This has all been complicated by my wife eventually agreeing to me having a jukebox in the house - on condition I get rid of some cars. What's a man supposed to do?????

Get the jukebox and "sell" the cars to a friend when secretly they are parked 2 streets away

I could try and buy your Volvo dude. But I would only end up fulfilling the 2nd and 3rd rule of female liason.
I would disapoint and you would complain.

You have a point - I'm already aware that the ceiling needs painting but it wasn't my idea to keep the light on.......

Simple, you sell your wife's car and give her Samara that you have not yet bought
That or you rent warehouse which comes your secret hideout where you can also stash car or two, what she can see, she does not count to be existing as a car. Then you can get into game of making up excuses, going to visit pub with lads, aunt 'who she never has met' needs help over her house, tire blew on your way back home, etc. but in reality you go spend some man time in your secret hideout. Oh and you must be really careful not to use same excuse too many times, they get suspicious and might go so far as stalking or even phoning to pub, be very careful and creative with them excuses, that is only way those are going to work. Some have tried to go by "I have a job" or "Got volunteer career" however these are very prone to fail, unless job is like where you travel to clients and you have paid personnel to answer her checkup calls. Like ones including "honey, what shall us eat today" or "honey will you please come by a market when you leave from work?", some have failed in there that they asked their pals to act as call centre of company, problem is that she probably recognizes them and becomes suspicious.
You will of course be bit clever about payment, so she does not figure out odd regular payment from accounts, so you probably will need to take money from wall in small amounts during the month and pay in cash to landlord from secret hideout.
Some have got caught when they have returned back to home via wrong route, so coming from wrong direction, they do stalk you know.
Also you have to make plan what to do if she calls you when you are in your hideout, some have had success if made proper background noise to create atmosphere of pub etc, but there is always a risk she would ask questions that require consultation of surrounding persons which get you busted in no time.
Hmm, maybe I have watched too much Touch of Frost ?

Get rid of the wife, she's clearly a bad influence trying to distract you from your job of car collection!

Definitely sell the wife's car. What the hell is that, I had to use Google to find out what an "Aveo" is

Not having a "modern" Koreabox in the fleet frees up funds to use on fun cars - what you save in depreciation and fully comp insurance you can spend more enjoyably on parts and fuel.
How about a 360 as a daily for the missus? A late 360 GLE/GLT in mint condition with PAS, heated seats and a (working) sunroof? Garnish it with some perfume / flowers / jewellery / concert tickets / holidays / tasty meal etc. etc. and it might even work
Cheers

Would be better than Samara as Samara can require some getting used to when parking etc. It has not the lightest controls from my memory and might not be as reliable as 360, them are not best known for quality either

The last week I've been driving a car that parks by itself using some kind of radar magic. Now
that's a ladies' car

Get rid of the stinking aveo! If the 340 is so reliable let the wife use it and drive a lada if that's what makes you happy.
If your wife doesn't allow you to do what you want then leave her.
