is this worth it peeps?

looking at buying this car. its a 340 1.7 gl spec ed 4dr
low miles
good body apart from tiny bubble of rust on the 1 door
he wants £800, spec is below.

It is a standard 1.7 engine which has just been serviced although has a bigger solex carb on it. ( the power difference isnt really noticable apart from you can kick the back end out abit easier in the dry, must boost torque slightly)
Its stripped out and has 2 subaru imprezza bucket seats
2x omp 3 point harnesses
extended steering column using 2x 100mm spacers
Momo leather steering wheel
has after market sony speakers wired into the front doors and 6x9 wired into the boot area which are tucked out the way.
it has a set of minilite wheels as pictured, and a set of steelies and a set of original wheels all with tyres in various usable conditions.
has the rear suspension dampers and springs off an mr2 on the front of the volvo and front landrover dampers on the rear of the car.
it then has escort 2inch rear lowering blocks to get the height matched
welded diff
11 months mot
2 months tax

IMO,
no.

But youd have to look around it really.
If its solid and its what you want, then maybe.

Buckets are cheap. Blocks are cheap, landy dampers are cheap, harnesses are pointless unless you plan on rolling it.
Dunno what hes on about with the carb, depends what solex it is. Possibly runs poorer than origonal?

Sounds like every other "drift project" on ebay man (ie almost nothing done with a big price tag).

For that money, personally, Id want at least a valver.
But thats just me.

Go and see it. If you like it, pay the money. Thats the best advice.

I don't dig on saloons mesel' but some do.

A base car with that test and rent would be 500 ball park.

If you think the mods are worth 300 then it is worth it.

I'd be tempted to take a bundle of notes, start at 600 and try and find common ground.

Then again I'm a tight Northerner 8)

Really??

£411

£200

£375

£375

£315

Its hard to say blind, but my advice would be to get one cheap, see how you like it, then do the work yourself.
Then you can set it up exactly how you like it at a cheaper rate.

£700 is a lot for a messed around car. Do the messing yourself, then you know whats been done!

Minilites are worth near the asking price on their own :P

The OMP 3 points are no doubt worth about 100 quid.
Depending what ML's (and tyres) are on it, they're worth up to £250

Classic Scooby buckets can be had for fuck all now. The rest ot the mods as mentioned, aren't very valuable nor difficult to acheive.

It comes down to condition IMO. Also, I see the need for harnesses, but only with a decent bucket. Scooby seats don't provide enought bolster support to justify them IMO.

Get some pics up, and lets see the crusty areas then everyone will have a better idea. 340pw
