Hi all.
Today in N.Ireland it is national no smoking day and i have quit the demon weed after 35 years.
I feel a bit weird and edgey

. Glad i have taken a day or too of work.
Has anyone quit recently?
Wish me luck.

Good on you fella.
And good luck with it.
Every one you miss is a victory mate.
My old mams had cancer in a lung, thats gone to her thyroid, spine and brain so she quit cold.
Best to get off the poison earlier than that though........

Good luck, MCHUDD. Stick with it.
I've been nursing my wife through cancer these last two years, wouldn't wish it on anyone. She's 40. A mate's missus kicked the bucket from lung cancer aged 38 recently.
All the best, I hope you beat the bloody things.

Good lad! You'll notice the money benefits I'm sure!

5 quid a pack or more last time I heard. I've never smoked, but I know its bloomin expensive. GOOD LUCK!

Good luck Mark. You'll have a tough time for a bit, but you'll have bought yourself a few more years of life which isn't such a bad deal

Good luck buddy, it can take a couple of weeks to get over the hump but beyond that it's normally bearable. I gave up and I've never regretted it, as much as I liked smoking.

Good luck Mark.
I've been smokin' like a bloody beagle today, but I've had to deal with a rather problematic Variomatic
I've quit twice before 9 months and 16 months at a time. Both those times I it was easy to do, because I approached it with the right frame of mind. Only snag is, if you see it as easy to quit, then the flip side of the problem is it's easy to start
It's certainly a mind game so if you crumble or go nuts, give us a shout.
Best moment is coming up -
actually tasting things again. It's a revelation!

Good for you Mark, I quit the habit 7 years ago, and yes I sometimes still have the urge in a smoke but that's only for a few seconds, It's hard the first few months but you'll get over that.
One word of advice watch your eating pattern I gained a lot of weight and I'm now trying to lose at least 10 to 15 kg to get back to my normal weight.

Oversteer: The rear of the car hits the wall,
Horsepower: How fast the car hits the wall,
Torque: How far the car pushes the wall.

Well done Mark - you won't be buying cigs with the wheel trim money then...!!
(explanatory note - thanks to Mark my 340 will soon be wearing proper Volvo wheel trims - the cheap and nasties will then be donated to my mother's Matiz..)
