Re: Poly 340 gearbox mounts
oooooooooo!! Gievn them a ring? wonder how much they are, might be worth giving one a whirl to see if they fit. any dimensions?

Re: Poly 340 gearbox mounts
No use to me mate! From the limited times I have been in contact with a 340 gearbox mount they do seem to be similar though. I'm probably way off! Incase you didn't realise, they are for stopping vibration through bus seats. First time I have ever heard of a poly mount reducing vibration!.
Just thought it may be an avenue worth exploring for you 340 lads. You ask.

Re: Poly 340 gearbox mounts
Aye realised they were for buses, hence why I asked about dimensions. It could be HUGE for all we know!
and yeah, polybush to reduce vibration, wtf? must be some engineering reason behind it. might look into the dimensions of it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damping
The calculation of zeta requires things like mass/velocity etc to be taken into account. Also explains why landy dampers in 300's are bad.
Standard 300 damper in pink, landy damper in red. Poly seat damper in use in a seat/coach scenario is likely to be green.

Re: Poly 340 gearbox mounts
Surely the pink line is undamped? ie no shock absorber. Green is critical (fastest time to recovery), red is over damped.
Polybushes reduce vibration transfer compared to steel bolts, while allowing some movement!

Re: Poly 340 gearbox mounts
Yup... just most 300's seem to have the dampers they came out the factory with that now are old enough to do nothingRide_on wrote:Surely the pink line is undamped? ie no shock absorber.
