Good to see you out last night chap.

Glad you passed through all my controls on time. and unlike some cars..... Polite! Maybe see you at the next one if i can be bothered to spend the best part of 6 hours waiting for the rally to start from signon! let alone not leaving sign on till gone 8am the following morning!

For anyone who is interested, it was the Illuminations Road Rally last night. Me and a good friend of mine managed to grab 25th overall and 1st novices. Pictures to come when I find 'em! :)

Yes mate, same. Shame I didn't get to speak to you more, maybe next time? Was nice to see someone from the forums, must be a first for myself!

Aye, we did alright! Car went well, real well actually. Politeness is always key I find. Most importantly, thanks for marshaling! You guys are what make our sport possible, and a huge thanks from all the competitors last night!

Lose the Hella grill and get some KCs upfront then you'll definately see the light so to speak.
Already in hand :). Got some lovely PIAA 80 Series Lamps. Just need some nice brackets making up so I don't have to modify the bonnet opening or use lamp steadies. Want something similar to this, but obviously for a 340 bumper rather than an escort  :
I don't think there's any way round mounting spots to the bumper without using stays. The ends of the chassis rail to bumper extension pieces just stiff enough to stop the bumper flexing. Still wobbly lights are better than standard lights!

I think the best way to do it would be to chop the grille apart and mount stays to the underside of the slam panel.

Certainly will. Pop over again. Breakfast was good though right? :D

Hello mate. The Hexham historic/john robson rally is coming up not this weekend but next. I'm part of Hexham club I'm trying to drum up some more entry's And I would be great to see a 300 out on the event cos I'm not sure if mines gunna be ready in time
I'm not sure where your based. Would you fancy come up having a go at our event. It takes in the best roads in Northumberland. Should be a cracking event.
I'm sure sven360 has done it before and I'm sure he will vouch for the Hexham rally.

If your interested send me a pm

Cheers RRliam

Sorry pal, managed to miss this post somehow. I would have loved to have come up (I'm based in Manchester but would come up to sample your finest roads :D ), but unfortunately my car is in pieces at the moment as I'm installing a cage and some new seats. Real shame actually, sorry about that. Keep me informed about your events though, you guys run a 12 car series right?

Quick update guys:

Decided to logbook the 340 and do the North West Stages in February. It will be my first stage rally!

Car is currently undergoing some work to get it up to scratch. I'll keep you posted.

Great news mate, how much does it need to log book? Can't be that much... just in date bits?

Bizarrely, the seats and belts are in date! It's the window film, extinguishers, that kind of thing. Plumbing in my hydraulic handbrake too! Hopefully I get it done it time!

Pictures to follow!
