Yeah the sidewalls can be a problem if they petrude. It's more about clipping pedestrians I think they care about. The solution to this is getting stretched tyres or rolling your arches of course :D

You'd hit a cyclist with the wing mirror first so the rule is idiotic. The main reason is to stop it chucking spray at people following you. As said though, sidewall is fine, tread is a no-no.

+1, Wing mirror before wheel rim! And the same for the tread etc, there was a massive debate on DW about this ages ago. So long as the tread is under the arches, its fine, tread poking out of arch = illegal. Rim sticking out is fine. Theres no law on stretched tyres either.

Good you had nice copper. With my wheels I've had no problem with Bristol police, they just pull along side and nod. Bristols so lax its un real. Guess they've got other stuff to worry about!

No issues with 155 tyres

Police has been very nice around here, especially when my vehicles are not noisy and I keep my fun on track, not an public roads.

Hi all.
One morning on the way home from work {night shift}, i was fallowed home by a couple of PSNI officors.
As i tuned into my road, he put his flashing roof lights on and i thought, oh shit, i must have been speeding.
I stopped outside my house and he asked me if i had insurance for the car. I said yes its classic policy.
He asked how old the car was and i told him 28. He said it was in fantastic condition for being a daily driver.
I said i have an even older one in the garage if you want to see it
He told me his grandfather had one years ago and he hadn't seen one in years.
I said i hope i wasn't speeding there and he said no,i just wantede to have a look at your motor.
Spot on copper.
Cheers Mark. sm4

Well put, sir :D

Maybe many of us are just getting old, but there are some things my brain can't explain, one is need to look cool, I do understand when something looks nice, but usually when something looks cool, I find there is one other adjective to describe how it looks

Must be that I'm just getting too old

Duvel, what do you think?
