They make great rally cars. Takes a while to get into that, try joining your local motorsport club and doing autoslaloms. Best place to start! Another cheap motorsport that's easy to enter is drifting but it depends if that's your thing or not. Hope that helps

Don't know about over there but I find it really easy to pick up scrap tyres for pennies. I've got 5 waiting for my next autosolos  They were free.

Ya lucky bummer :D

I have no idea what used ones cost here, probably a ton, last time I did use used tyres was when I was given set of winter tyres by my mother, they had less grip than my summer tyres, tyres I have got with cars have been totally crap ones, some have had tread left, but they have been really crap otherwise.

Also there's some old ones sitting in my front garden. I've got a feeling they belong to my landlady. I might "borrow" them for a few races seeing as I hate her

Man has to know how to cut costs

We have something like car navigation competition here, basic idea is that it is less costly than rallying, also it is closer to original idea of rally racing, where one has to find route and drive trought checkpoints to some destination, even going too fast has been requlated so that distance must take at least certain amount of time to finish.

It is not without speed, as one missed turn and it is easy to loose time, but in theory one should follow speed limits, but as roads that are used are with very little amount of traffic and speedlimits of those roads are far more than safe speed, that makes driving nice and challenging even within speedlimits.

I think that in UK there must be something similar?

Yes we have "treasure hunts" which happen on public roads. There's also *ahem* 12 car but that's very sedate and deffinatly not fun at all. You have to average 30mph

12 cars are pretty much identical to what you say Jani. As Speedy says... they are set to an average of 30mph so not fun at all

Funny you should mention drifting.. been doing it for the last 9 years on and off so fancy time for a change!

Was kinda hoping theyd be some proper racing i could get stuck into. Whilst im here whats the best conversion to do on my 360 to get some decent power?

Sure theyres still a classic touring series?

Here

Or Rallies as everyone has said.

OR get over to the Flatland and rock the 360 cup

Here

For uprades, a 2.3 turbo from a 940 makes sense. Up the snail size for bigger wins.

HTH bud.
