can i say lancia integrales?
Re: I love...
Dammit dammit dammit. I wanted to be the first to run a valver on ITBs. RARGH!! Nev and his engineering skills! Brilliant thing . The F4R is a similar block to the F7. Would have done something like that had I had the time and money. The F7 is doing well though.
Btw, to add to the "I love" theme, I loved the sound my car made on over run when It was a 1.4 with a side exit. it was gorgeous!

Is there any build thread or similar? That has some really neat touches done to it. I've not really seen any of Nev's stuff apart from the first white 340 he brought along to the V3M meet ~6 years ago which was again done nicely.latackas wrote:I love this

This sort of car is the reason I don't like the fact that "drifters" think we don't like them on this board (yes, I have read driftworks often saying "ask on V3M, but don't tell them you are a drifter" ) This car shows huge effort and engineering skill to the cause we all follow and hasn't just been matt blacked with a welded diff. There really is appreciation for this sort of project here and we could learn a lot from it as well as drum up business for the guy.
Well done guys, first for an F4R into a 300 I guess? Any pics of the sump and from crossmember?

Re: I love...
There is a build thread currently being put together, I believe it will be going on the new website that will be up and running soon, along with the build of his AE86 Corolla We've got pictures of the sump conversion etc that you'll be able to see as well at some point Thomas.............Chris_C wrote:Is there any build thread or similar? Re: I love...
Good god that's clean. Fair play Nev...that's a properly top-class job. The only thing I can find that I don't like is that the watt linkage is at a funny angle at rest...but it'd probably be about right with larger wheels on. That stance is spot-on though, and I don't even mind the rollerskate wheels on this one. Nice to see a shaved engine bay, too. Not something I'd do on my own car, but I do love the look.
Excuse my ignorance...what exactly is an F4R, and why have we not heard more about them?
cheers
James

Re: I love...
172/182 lump. Same as the F7R but has kinda VVC so it can run lumpy cams but it retards them at idle so does idle.
Same as the late F7R's they have a chain driven oil pump that fouls the 340 sump, so as most people shy away from hacking cast ali or fabwork in general they havn't been seen.
I've looked over my housemates 182 a fair few times, we reckon'd it wouldn't be too horrible but the gains weren't enough for me to have the hassle over my F7R, straight line the Volvo and Clio are less than half a car length different to 80 anyway. I'm very interested to see how much work it was in the end though.
