Sounds like a record low for a 360 to me ;-) Varios often crop up with amazingly low mileages, but not 360s ...

Hi guys, Yes I shall take some pictures when I next clean it, its a bit mucky round my district at the mo.
I bought the car new but preferred driving a works landrover at the time so the 360 only got used for important occasions. Now I just love it and use it for my daily local transport. Still on original tyres and brakes (just).

Watch out for those tyres, my '83 360 GLS I bought a year and a half ago still has it's original tyres (Goodyear Grand Prix X) and brake pads. Brakes are fine but the tyres are not. They look fine (no cracks) but the rubber is a bit hard and I noticed an odd profile across the tyre when I took the wheels are off the car (concave in the middle where the touch they road!). I've prepared another set of wheels with new tyres as I didn't trust the old ones in the wet and at speed. I've kept the old ones on the original rims just cos it must be so rare to still have them!

Can't wait to see the the photo's!

Thanks for warning re ageing tyres etc. Just inspected them closely and all are fine. They are Michelin MXL's. I shall take some pics of the car when cleaned over the holiday and post them in the 'The Family!(--need your Pictures)' thread found in this same general discussion category, rather than hijack this interesting thread any further. Thanks all for your interest.

Great replies folks
VND wrote - did you celebrate with oddly shaped peanuts mick? _ they are pieces of quartz I found on a hill walk in Scotland about 5 years ago I drove there of course - they quickly became lucky charms -

Tom - I try not to think the amount of petrol I use _ I certainly notice a big difference between say 60 and 70 mph - in this multilane road network I sometimes opt to go at that magic(for the carb 360 anyway) 58 -62 mph - lets face it getting on for half a million people out there must have driven 300s in the past and their lasting memories of such a car must have left them with the grace to walt awhile before passing me
