Big volvos are amazing. Thirsty though and you'll never find a parking space big enough. But who cares?

S90 was never and most of the 960s were never available with a diesel engine. Some of the early model 960s with old front end were equipped with D24TIC but those are quite rare. None of the newer body 960s and S90s had diesel engines.

Of course you can always make your own, here's a one on-going project of a one Finnish Volvo guru, 960+D5 :P

And I wouldn't call bigger Volvos that thirsty (S90 is a +1600kg vehicle with a 2.5l or 3l engine, so you can't even expect to get Prius-scale MPG ;)). I get around 26MPG with my S90 3.0 at the highway. 240 with a B23A does around 29MPG at the highway.. City driving is another thing of course, 15MPG and below depending on your driving style. My driving is mostly mixed between highways and some city driving so average mixed MPG is ranging from 15 to 23 or so depending on the heaviness of the foot.. :P

These are pretty much in the same scale as the numbers I get with a 360 Turbo.

I'm now used to around 75MPG and I must say any mpg quote I see sounds horrible :o
