86. Just getting it home before, running low on fuel (this is strange cause i thought it was half full when i test drove it on monday). i go to open the petrol tank, it is locked, fair enough. I go to unlock it.. i cant!!
It looks as if the lock is busted, the key wont fit, it looks like the pins are jammed in there glued?? i dont know.
how can i get this open!!?
I dont think conventional picking will do, because it looks damaged.
Also my thermostat doesnt appear to be working, but otherwise it drives very nicely.

Large screwdriver hammered into lock and twist the screwdriver often works.

There are screwdirvers with a 1/4 square on the back end... Then you can apply more force with a 1/4 wrench...
(I bet the names of the tools are wrong but I think you get the point...?)

or a hand drill straight down the barrel, should be able to turn it once you get a good grip

Make sure the drill is not to powerfull... the car may end up on its roof!

You would struggle with a hand drill!

Try using the keys from another 300, this sounds stupid, but when i wanted a 360 filler cap from a scrap yard thats what i did!! As the barrel is only in plastic you can do this!! it may be stiff but find a key that starts to move then twist sharply!!
Cheers Adam

I had this when I first got my 360, the barrel pins seize in the wrong position so you can never turn the lock. What you need to do is put plenty of WD-40 into the lock and leave it to soak, top it up every day for a week and then winkle the key in and out loads of times. Keep your fingers crossed and hopefully it'll free off and start to work.
Maybe even try the wrong key thing, just to get the barrel pins moving but don't do this until the WD40 has worked its way in for a week, otherwise you'll get them stuck again, only this time in a different and maybe worse position LOL

Turns out, i just wasnt given the right key, and i probally bent the pins by using my own. Its off now and ill get the key soon (id dint kno there was a seperate key for tank). Though probally my ignition barrel is different to stock.
I dont lock petrol tank anyway.
No one steals petrol from me. NO one!!
Not that i know of anyway.
