Well i figured i'd try my hand at a build thread so here goes...
My name is Matt i'm 28, i'm a house painter, i love cars!
This is my 87 volvo 360glt. I bought it for 500 bucks(au). It was hit on ds quarter so i've repaired and primed it so far. While i was at it, i thought to cut the rust out too. Just havn't decided what colour to respray it yet?.
The first week i set about lowering it. (sorry no before shots).I had the leafs reset, lowered the front coils and threw on the chevoit hotwire 13's to replace the stockies for now.
Week 1

Just started masking up. I found a heap of dings i overlooked before, so decided to wax and grease remove the whole car, just to get any tar, dirt and goo off. Also gives me a chance to inspect all the panels and mark out anything i missed repairing

Thanks Dai! i received my springs from you and they ride perfect! Delivery was really quick too! Most impressed!
I've been working alot lately, so i haven't had alot of time for the volvo or this thread but...
Got the car fully prepped and I started spraying on a fri night after work, when halfway through clear coating the roof, my compressor dies! Scrambling to fix it in a hurry i managed to use parts from an old broken compressor i had to get it going again but it was too late, so i cut my losses and went to bed. Sat i woke up, rubbed the clear back and set about clearing it again, there was slight rub through on the roof base coat, but i was clean out of color to hit it again, lucky i went the same color and its not too noticeable, so i went on with the clear. Compressor was holding together and it was turning out mint until... late sat afternoon when i just finished my final clear coat, a freak storm rolls in. I'm tallking within mins the sky went from blue to black!
The winds roll in and no matter how much i had previously cleaned out the garage and hosed it down to make it as dust free as possible, it blew crap through any gap i hadn't sealed up and settled on the car
Completely disheartened and over it, i spent the next few days avoiding even looking at the car. Eventually i decided it was never gonna be a show car anyway, so i cut it back and buffed it to see how much damage was really done. After It was all said and done, it wasn't as bad as i dreaded. There is some bits in the roof which wouldn't buff out so one day i'll redo that but for now, no more peeling clear, its rust free and ready for rego! sm4
A week or so later I orded some -2in front springs from classicswede to replce the chopped ones, cut and moulded some plastic to repair a taillight reverse cover (because trying to find any part for a 360 in Australia is near to freaking impossible). There is a guy near me with a 360 just rusting away in his yard for years, i asked if he'd part out the rear lights and he said no, i'd have to buy the whole car... so DIY reverse light cover will do for now.
Haven't found any rims i like yet so i sprayed mine satin black.
And this is where i'm at...

Thanks Heaps! Yeah that would be awesome!
If you have any of the following-
-Driver's side rear taillight cover.. If it doesn't match my left one, both?
-Passenger's side Rear wheel bearing.
Let me know.
Thanks!

cool Logan thanks! I wanted to weld up mine but there's just no spares if i decide to go back to open, having a second diff would be great. Shame bout the rear bearings, if you know of anyone who might have some let me know...
Thanks Evoman, still in progress but for now its looking better. I took it to a local meet on fri night called megameet in sydney. Not sure the numbers but felt like over a thousand cars there and i was the only volvo haha. People weren't too sure what to make of it. It got a few looks anyway, i dunno if thats good or bad but hey... Hopefully i can find someone who might have photos from the night
