Re: Disconnected rumblings
I want more gardening tip. Whilst I 'ate gardening, how can I achieve the perfect lawn?
Re: Disconnected rumblings
Poke holes to lawn with suitable metal rod, does not need to be very thick, but durable and preferrably sharp, if you have patience to punch holes to every inch, good, if not, then you do less holes, idea is to let lawn breathe.macplaxton wrote:I want more gardening tip. Then you need to cut it almost daily, especially if it rains, if it is very dry, you need to water it, then cut almost every day, robotic cutters are better for the job.
If there is anything that creates shadow to lawn, remove it.
Also one needs to walk on lawn a bit, keeps other stuff from growing.
Might need some fertilizers too, I have thrown wood ash on my lawn, but I have issue that there is not much grass, but more of moss, keeping grass short has helped turn moss bit more yellow, also dry season helped, but now it is green again as it has been bit more wet.
Then at some point one finds tarmac being much easier option

Sound like hard work, need a machine to do that for me.jtbo wrote:Poke holes to lawn with suitable metal rod...if you have patience to punch holes to every inch, good, if not, then you do less holes
At my best I can do it twice a week, but it all depends on work and Irish weather. The last week of hot weather has been unusual.jtbo wrote:Then you need to cut it almost daily, especially if it rains
I think the boundary wall and the shed has to stay!jtbo wrote:If there is anything that creates shadow to lawn, remove it.

Nah, concrete....painted green. Thanks for the tips. I'm going to see if I can find any grass out there amongst the moss and weeds....jtbo wrote:Then at some point one finds tarmac being much easier option

More rumbles,
In my irresponsible yoof I was into custom vans - In fact, it was a at a van run that I met Mrs.Mac (I threw her in a river and we've been together ever since (35 yrs.)). Even then Volvo wasn't far from the surface.
Our van,
The engine,
My job on foreign trips,
Other creatures that I was "associated" with,
Just a taster, a Carioca with a flock of 300s in the background,
Mac.

I found envelope full of feathers from attic of my garage, that would be free to collectmac wrote:I hope I get feathers as well as tar!

macplaxton, there are machines to do that hole poking, some lawn movers have such option too, but again they cost a lot. Lawn is lot of work, that is why I prefer moss, also it is impossible to kill moss.
Hot weather is soon over, arctic chill is already coming, we have had +12C today, yesterday one of our major cities got flooded so that cars stalled to water and it was all rain water, even that is southern parts of country there was nearby of that city some white stuff on roads so that cars had difficulty to move, slippery with summer tires such slush.
Oh yes, mac, it is bad practice to install fuel line to run between fan blades, it causes car to stall, I know this
Back at those days driving was bit cheaper than now? Surely there has been lot of vans.
I don't mind if it is repost, Anything from before yesterday is new stuff for me

If you relocate steering wheel to rear seat and swap seats around, your Yaris is bit like a vanvolvosneverdie wrote:That Bedford was badass Mac.
