Added 4x 50w 10cm speakers, nothing cut...

All is well. when was brake fluid last changed, i encountered a bit of brake fade and I could swear the pedal is a bit squidgier?

Hello CBA, I think the brake fluid was last changed in August 2005 which is when the copper brake pipe connecting the two rear wheels was replaced. It may have been done after that and, if so, it should say in the notes but if it looks pretty brown (I think it did) quite possibly that is the last time it was done!!

So, a brake job.
Grease, fluid and circlips I gather.

Going a bit mad, audio-wise, but in good taste... wts. Many watts but invisible-almost.

Hello again, the rear drums and shoes were cleaned recently and copper-grease applied where they rub on the back plate so the mechanical side of the brakes should be OK, but the fluid might be a bit challenged by now, sorry!!

paint and filler and prop-sorting..... Wts Tuesday night and I bet it's ready for topcoat if not indeed drying!, With a diagnosed prop.

Question: 'classic' sports saloons and coupes: eg jaguar, saab, porche. What other marques for under 10k are safe and practical (rock solid) like these cars? economy is no issue but it must have continental if not galactic boot space
. bentley, rolls... Is there a model that fits in this niche?
Tvr.... Lotus..... Hmmm, this is where I run out of ideas unless I go vintage but then performance and safety fly out of the window, quite literally... Or do they?

twr xj40 manual, square lights, tasteful wheels with the original digital dash working and aircon+cd + not too many miles. That I would be happy with, but I'm open to suggestion... I have a few months to check out the market before I start seriously enquiring about my first 'not shagged out' flash car. Blah blah.

How much Lotus Omega is there? It has some boot space and it is pretty fast, perhaps not much better than 300 in safety department, but not a lot worse either. However these days it might be pretty expensive as once it was too cheap and lot of them got wrapped around poles and stuff like that.

Classic 911 is not very safe car, also some foolish teenager did crash 20k 911 here not so long ago, in a city, was some more modern version that I'm not too familiar about, but that was quite well crash safe car.

Finding good 944 or what came after that is perhaps bit difficult, not too large boot either, somehow boot floor is quite high so not too much usable space.

Getting a 940 or 960 and spending that money on it would make it quite quick, quite safe and beat any so called sports car at traffic lights and curvy road. You could also move in to boot and have some room for luggage still, wagon versions have enough space to house a whole family in the boot, while still being able to beat 911 with some proper adjustments. Of course it is not a proper sports car, if car has usable boot, it can't be classified as a sports car.

So Vauxhall Monaro VXR or something like that it was called, might be something to look at, while it may not look much, it has something interesting to offer, if basic model with 'only' 5.7l 330hp V8 is enough, one could get such for lot less than 10k, VXR models are probably bit over 10k, but it has 6 litre 500hp V8 and it does manage to corner, kind of, well at least sideways.

Tire costs might be tad high and when it is wet weather it is not too easy to go fast because of so much torque, but it is fast, relatively safe, and fast, very fast, also it has large boot.

It is re-badged Australian car, so probably not as bad as Vauxhall usually is for reliability.

Best fast cars with large boot come from down under, they are also almost only ones, but I really envy cars from that island, somehow they have managed to put all good bits together.

Looking at how dire the roads are getting I can no longer justify having a sports car in engurlund.

Want move iceland, I think... Hows it for opening garages there?

I'm hitting the road in my soon to be custom caravan thingy, like swampy, only with a driving licence, and not up a tree... But basically the same thing. pass the time, enjoy the rotation of the earth, fry bacon etc.

That werk thingy... It is 'spongy'. Uncomfortable, kind of coarse and it dries you out.

it's pretty damn easy, just check over your work repeatedly every step of the way, and turn the engine SLOWLY by hand to check for interference before trying to crank it EVEN when you think the marks are right. Some of the new belts have timing marks on the belt...
