this car drives like a jag
Jesteth ye not - it did feel like it was hanging together pretty well, but I never quite got Jaguar level performance from it, although that will be 99% down to my remedial level driving. The brakes were extremely sharp - much sharper than my 360 so much so that I wondered if the pressure-reducer thing was working. I don't know how much life there is in the clutch and one of the rear brakes had a habit of binding a bit on standing (passenger side). How are you coping with that steering (?) - getting out of a tight parking space used to need weight-training. Keep up the great work.

Wicked work man. All of the driver's side panels are original (I think) - hence that scarily uniform silver-grey colour, but on the passenger side I think the previous owners had a bit of a ding since it looked like it had been resprayed and the rubber trim is a bit wobbly. I put on a second-hand front wing on that side since the original was quite bad around the wheel arch and had a bit of a dent from a low-lying log. The front valance (also damaged by said log) was repaired in the autumn and, at the back, the bumper is a second-hand one because I reversed into a concrete bollard about 8 or 9 years ago!! The only remains of that incident is a shallow dent in the rear valance. Keep up the great work. Does it still rattle when idling in neutral and did you find the doggy seat-belt under the back seat (I think I left one there) ;-?

I'll video it, see what you think. It does rattle a tad, Thinking about it, A bit of good grease would not be wasted on the prop

Mileage is better this tank, looking at 350miles projected.

Airfilter done.

Oil leak gone.

Oil like honey after 200 miles too.

Slow today, owing to crap air.

Bogbasic<- RE: Premium fuel - It does "like" premium fuel, oh yes it does :D
I'm at 85 miles from a tenner and still have some left, definitely nudging 40mpg now.

£8 wheelbalance = 20 minutes on the car stand to have a good look at things + free wheel balance  , The rust really isn't as bad as I thought, its not encroached deep into the chassis (yet), it's just "tatty edges++", £200 should have it shipshape.

Teaching the mrs to drive this week-> sm96 sm48 , since the car has no driving issues whatsoever!! -

Bogbasic<- Seriously, thanks for this car.

Awesome work. I'm glad it works well with normal unleaded. When I tried it, the car used to pink a lot so I went over to LRP (anyone remember that?) and then super-unleaded but you must have sorted the carb well proper bo for it to be OK with premium now. The underside was always pretty rust-free apart from a couple of places close to the fuel tank/rear axle where it had to be welded a few times. I spent several years trying to give it to someone to teach the missus to drive in (she even started referring to it as 'her' car) but he wouldn't have it on the drive ;-)

It runs great, tends to start easier when hot with premium?, certainly more power low down and high up.
I'm going to get the arches n stuff welded Kryten-esq (boxy), for £150 or so... then build with fiberglass and filler - should make for a very long lasting repair.

Exhaust has the slightest blow, but it sounds exactly like a bootleggers souped-up model A ford sm52 , it is now designated as a "charm" of the car and to be left alone , the engine is so quiet mechanically it's hard to judge the revs without it anyway.

Keeping the screen clean is such a ballache in this season... anyone know of a screen treatment that gives good results?

Bugs are the problem there?

We have Lasol here, summer version should get rid of bugs easily, but of course at your place it might be called different or be non existing, then there is Viis ötököistä, which translates roughly to ignore bugs, but I have no idea if your place has that either, it is squirt bottle, while Lasol is washer fluid condensed form of that, so one adds water on top of it.

I really have no any kind of idea if UK and other places have anything even remotely similar, but I also think that we should have some good stuff listing, waxes, car care products, washer fluids, wipers etc, always needed stuff that all know to work well and be good for wallet too! Everyone knows them, but maybe with list we could find more than we know, especially silly Scandinavians that don't know anything about UK shelf stuff

I've not found a good anti bug stuff, I normally just use strong washer fluid but the current windscreen wipers I've got are useless at shifting them (or the bugs are stickier)

Any solutions would be good.

I thought Kryten was a style of wheel arch but now I see its a man with a square head, indeed with a similar hair-style to my own, although much more good-looking. Well-wicked idea anyway - it'll be cool and glassy ;-0. Indeed to keep the glass clear, how's about Turtle Wax Clearvue(?), but they're all pretty good really!!
