I've been lurking on here for a while due to agreeing to buy my mate's volvo 340 for some time, however only collected it today.
Drove it home with no rear brakes, but got to say the driving experience was extremely good, very comfy

I understand its a very late one being a J plate, and strange to have body coloured bumpers on a 340?

It's a 1.7 with a blown headgasket, needs a lot of welding to get an mot, but I don't mind sm4

Ah, the Erskine clan strikes back (sorry, I 'work' with someone of the same said name). Anyhow, very awesome car indeed. A J-plate is very late.

Hi mate and welcome.
A nice set of 4 by 100 alloys and that car will turn heads.
Cheers Mark.

J plates are late yes, last manufactured in June '91 so would have sat a bit before being registered.

Rust is a pain on late cars (as you seem to have found), but not insurmountable. Body coloured bumpers certainly weren't "standard" but then not much was on the last few cars, my '91 GL had most things thrown at it. There is every chance someone found the correct colour bumpers in a scrappy before you or the previous owner got it though, it's a simple swap and was quite common to do 10 years ago (when 300s were still in yards!)

I did think that someone had maybe put 360 bumpers on
It's very rotten in places but I can deal with that, might just take some time
