everywhere I look I see statements that the 360 is thirsty I never had complaints at 30 mpg from my tired one in fact thought it good from a car I never drive gently
totally gobsmacked that the B230FB I,ve now fitted is returning 38 per gallon and that was a run of 500 kilometres where it rarely went slower than 120 kp/h it could be better maybe if I drove sensibly
I now need decent tyres as maintaining traction is the downside to this engine swap

Re: fuel mileage

Re: fuel mileage
With my 230fb on lh2.4 I average 30mpg(US) City and highway combined.
City driving gives 25mpg(US) and slow driving on the highway (50mph) gives me 35mpg(US).
38mpg is really good, no miscalculations?
Edit: I'm using the google thing to go from liters to gallons, those are US gallons I think?
I like this page http://www.unitjuggler.com/convert-fuel ... oline.html

Re: fuel mileage
My 940 gets up to 47mpg at around 30mph in 5th along the flat. This is closed loop and is a peak figure, but indicates what its capable of. The 360 has a much lower frontal area so should be better.
I can average 39mpg, but it needs very good conditions and strange driving. My 'normal' driving gets about 24mpg, but my sister can do 30mpg without trying in my car.
The lh2.4 is better than the open loop jet tronic but the lh2.4 closed loop is very fragile and goes open loop very easily, where Volvo have programmed a very rich map, and daft somtimes, like slowing down. There is fuel cut but it needs specific conditions, and is conservative.
I'm considering a faster response wideband system with megasquirt3 at the moment.
