Hello everybody,

I´m Chris from Germany and last week I found a nice 1987 340DL wiht CVT. Hopefully my cheeseelk an I wil have a long relationship :lol:

Greetings, but unclear if you mean chisel or Cheese Elk?? Chisel - I can understand.

Elk - we call them deer over here. Elk is more like moose or a gnu or a wildebeest. I used to work with someone of a similar-sounding surname to the latter and the resulting nickname _really_ stuck, and still does.
1988 340 1.4 GL, 218k, 5 door (Grey Bess). Gone to CBA.

so what's a CVT like to drive? we only ever got manuals where from.

CVT is unique. They are a bit like an auto but only a bit. Main thing is that you don't have to change gear

Welcome Chris! If you're new to variomatics it's a very good idea to join the German DAF club. They're likely to be of a lot more help to you if you have any problems than your local Volvo dealer ...
