rare bolts

We all know the unobtanium brake carrier bolts, and the unusual M7 for the disk protector, but I recent found an M5x0.8 pozi screw.

Smarty pants points for anyone who knows where it goes.

Any other submissions for unusual bolts/screws

Give us a clue, interior, exterior or drive/running gear? Also, is it usef throught the 300s or say vario specific?

0,8 is standard thread for a M5 bolt/screw
M5 screw is used for holding the indicator and wiper stalks to the steering collumn, but I thought all of them were Philips head

Ah interesting, my ones are in the engine bay and so horrible, one location uses the same length as the indicator stalks so I've been able to swap these over for the nice uncorroded hidden interior ones.

I found 2 types in the engine bay, neither very critical, so I was planning to use new stainless. All the M5 I can see are pozi not Philips, including the stalks.

The M5 seems unusual in that there is 0.8 and 0.9 pitch option, a recepie for thread damage. 0.8 seems to be the standard one.

I have a die for 0.8 and 0.9 in my tap and die set (it caused me confusion last week, headlamp adjusters and head lamp pop up covers are both M5 x 0.8 on the MX5). The only reference I could find for M5 x 0.9 was on 1970s French pushbikes, so interested if you've found a real life use elsewhere.

As Anjo says, M5 x 0.8 is standard, M5 x 0.5 is first choice fine.

Haven't found M5 x 0.9, but surprised seeing the option in the taps I borrowed.

The M5 x 0.8 are on the brake master shield and the accelerator cable entry point.
